Because Black Bears outnumber Grizzlies 50 to 1 on this continent.... That stat is silly. While most bears of all species avoid people when possible, Grizzlies are far more dangerous than your average black bear. For the most part, don't come between a sow and her cubs and don't startle a bear walking through thick brush and you won't have any issues. That is a nice sized color phased black bear in the vid, btw.
I referenced its color, not the species. The probability of seeing a Griz in the state of CA is slim to none being they are all but extinct last I checked!
