Have you ever had a broadhead not be on the end of your arrow after shooting a deer.....Like the broadhead unscrewed from the insert? Friday afternoon I killed a doe and the arrow passed through her but was being held in the exit wound just by the Zinger fletching. When I recovered her about 75ish yards from the shot there was no broadhead on the end of my arrow. I had never seen that before in my 35 years of bow hunting and the guys I know that bow hunt said they have never had that happen to them. I figured the head had snapped off at the threads in the insert but when I got home and checked that was not the case.....another broadhead screwed right in. Everytime I nock an arrow I always check to make sure the head is snug. Thoughts?
I've never had it happen to me but someone who was here had that happen to them. @Ridgerunner3 , was that you or was it @cantexian ?
I’ve heard of it.. the brush unscrews it as they are running Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
It was me 2 seasons back when I killed fat bastard. Brand new, razor sharp, 125 gn serrazor. He ran through golden rod with the arrow hanging out his side for 50 yards. Never did find that head, but screwed another broadhead on and kept trucking.
Agreed - I've had this happen to me. Same basic thing - arrow buried to fletching and was sticking out the other side. The deer ran through standing corn and I'm assuming the broadhead unscrewed somewhere along the way.
