We have a lease in the Walterboro area and I hunt public land that's by Lake Moultrie.

Awesome...not too far at all from Estill. There are some surprisingly solid bucks around the Savannah watershed and that whole Estill area. Big ol peanut and cotton bucks.

Yeah I hear good things about the Estill area, sounds like you hunt all over the place, are you going to hunt Estill this year?

I will definitely hunt the upstate around Clinton and Enoree this December. Don't know whether I will have time to make it down to estill. The In-Laws still live in Greenville so we visit during the holidays.

Any of you guys been out lately...you know checking cameras, putting up stands, trimming lanes, etc? I moved my camera (only have 1!) to a small farm this week. I hadn't been there all summer, and was shocked to see that instead of corn like it's been the last few years, most of the fields were in rye and had already been harvested. Looked a little desolate. 3 small fields still have corn, do I will have to do make some adjustments this year...part of the game.

I've been out some, bush hogged a couple areas and moved a couple stands. I'll build a couple more stands in the next few weeks. As far as cameras go I have set them out, but not much. I live on my land so I see enough deer to have a good idea on where to start without relying on the cameras.

We have been running cameras on the lease and have some "nice" bucks for here 100-125in, most pics are at nite.

My season started Aug.15, I should really be out there now but with todays forecast-100 degrees with a 110 degree heat index I don't know. But a "cold front" should be here tomorrow mid to high 80s...

Might try to get out and check a few cams sometime this week, if I can. September 15th will be here before we know it!

He is fairly consistent coming out in this field. He hung around all last year so I'm hoping he sticks around.

Wow, Blue Moon...now that is an awesome buck. Hopefully he does hang around and walk by your stand. Good luck!

I actually feel pity for you having bow season start this early. It's so hot here I don't know if I would hunt if I could, my season doesn't start until Oct 1st so it should be a good bit cooler by then.

Starting to see a few leaves begin to fall here in PA...Fall is coming (although it sure doesn't feel like it today with highs in the high 80's)! I'm trying to get some of the projects done around here so i will have more time come Oct/Nov.

Yeah every year I tell myself im not going to hunt until Sept. but when August rolls around im pumped, last year I killed my first bow buck on Aug.15 an eight point in full velvet.

October would be a long time to wait for me, bucks are starting to harass does here in Sept. when does your season end?
