I am currently looking into getting a new bow sight, and have been wondering what ideas other hunters have. I am willing to spend up to $150 or so. Thanks for any input.

Huge fan of my HHA, not sure I'll own anything else for awhile.

I've always been intrigued by HHA's and it will be the next sight I purchase. Right now I shoot a Archery Xtreme 4-pin .010 pins. I like small pins and not many people make .010s. I have never had any problems with it.

You can probably find a Black Gold Surge in that range... It normally goes for a little more than $150, but you can find them in the $150's with free shipping. Otherwise the Black Gold Rush is a great sight in the $100 range (pretty much the same as the Surge except without the micro-adjustability)

Another vote for HHA here. I have shot them for 6 years now.

What was recommended to me was the Trophy Ridge React Sight with smart pin technology. You set it at 20 yards and 30 yards and it automatically sets itself at 40, 50 and 60 yards. Awesome!

I've seen the trophy ridge react sight and it is also an option.

I would go spot hogg all the way. they are almost indestructible and they are warrantied so if anything happens no questions asked they fix or replace it

Are spot hoggs very bright. I am looking into getting a sight with lighted pins.

I have been looking as well. Thinking the most bang for the buck is Black Gold. I have pretty much decided on a Black Widow with 5 pins top two .19 and bottom 3 .10. They do the customizations for dirt cheap and everything is lifetime warrantied for a lot cheaper that you can get into similar equipped Spott Hoggs are. I am sure Spott Hogg makes bad a$$ stuff as well though if you decide to go that route.

Just as an extra. There is a such thing as too bright of pins. You end up getting a halo effect and blocking out a target. I do know Spott Hogg has good bright pins. Really most descent sights have bright enough pins that you won't need the light unless hunting in the dark or possibly some not very well lit indoor ranges.

You will never need a light on a Black gold. also the Photochromatic technology allows less light to reach the pins during bright daylight hours which prevents the "halo" effect on the pins. The whole system on a Black gold sight works excellent.
