That’s what I’ve heard, don’t seem to be happening in my area. Suppose to be cold in the evening Friday. I hope to be in the stand that evening after work.

I’ve had some pictures sent to me of big bucks chasing hard in Chicagoland area during midday. Moved to west coast in March but back to hunt N Central IL for the next 5days straight, hopefully I timed it right and it’s an action packed next few days.

For sure. In my experience (and area) bucks seem to go a little crazy last week in October and then there's a bit of an early November lull. Once the "Teens of November " hit, all hell breaks loose.

I've hunted 60 hours in the past 7 days and haven't seen a single mature buck from the stand, just young bucks and does. My buddy had two 10 pointers at his stand on Monday late morning but nothing but young bucks and does since then for him also. I did have a stalk on one of those same 10 pointers at 11:30 AM in my sweats and slippers (saw him chasing a doe while getting firewood lol) on Monday (same day my buddy saw the two 10 pointers). All the mature bucks are still showing up at night on my trail cameras, barely anything moving during the day. I don't know what to think, the weather shifted and we got a cold snap, light wind, great conditions. I don't know if maybe they need a few more days, a week, or what. I'm thinking too much pressure on my small property so I am ditching the stand this afternoon and tomorrow and hoping something happens on Saturday. After that I'm back to weekend warrior mode and the second rut.

Agree with that. Saw a buck following some does over the weekend but not really chasing. Other does weren’t under much pressure. Betting this weekend and next two weeks will be action packed

It's starting to finally heat up here in SE Ohio. Did a hang and hunt today over a doe bedding area I found, had four different bucks come through harassing every doe in the group. Of the four bucks that came through, one is a nice 4 1/2 I watched back in August, had him 15 yards twice but couldn't get him to stop.

The rut was hot and heavy Nov 7-10 in the area of MN where I hunt, which is the case pretty much every year.

Saw chasing yesterday. The buck I shot came in alone, but he was seeking love.

in no central wi mating began Nov 1st---we have proof, I asked other buddies within 70 miles when theirs began all said same within a day or 2 quite early this year ten to 12 days early scrapes went dead, sightings of more mature bucks went dead--doe and buck staying in hotel sightings blossomed greatly
