will anchor or DL change going to this. Are there advantages to using a thumb release? I have not had the chance to try one, just looking for a change up I guess.

The big advantages are that you gain a more solid anchor and a better sear system. Your draw length shouldn't change but that depends on the specific release you go to. I've found that the TrueBall's tend to stick out so far that you lose about 1/2", my Carter is the same as a trigger and some of the new Carters are made to gain you 1/2".

DL won't change, but anchor may.

Thanks for the replies. Going to bow shop today at lunch to try a few and see how I like them.

I switched before last season and was glad I did. My accuracy took a big step up after the switch.

I switched last year as well, and I sure am happy with my decision. I like being able to clip it to my D loop and not have something flopping around on my wrist. My accuracy increased, too.

I just recently switched to a thumb release about a few weeks ago, and I noticed a few things. I was shooting the tru-fire glove thing and was fine with it, but as soon as I switched to the thumb release (tru-fire 3D hunter) my groups shrunk and it became easier to draw the bow. 67# feels more like 55# now. Also, I noticed a much more solid and repeatable anchor. My pinky knuckle just about touches halfway up the bottom part of my earlobe at full draw. Good luck with choosing one out.
