Also remember that beefier tires will down your fuel economy as well. Especially if you go with more aggressive tread AND a taller and wider tire, thats what really got me with my truck.
So you have a new job and some extra cash. HEY STUPID.... don't blow it on toys that mean nothing. You want a truck... fine... but no way should you be buying extras to make an eye sore, gas robbing piece of crap truck that no one else will want when you're through with it. You want a truck and can afford it.. FINE... Buy the damn truck. YOU NO WAY IN HELL NEED A JACKED UP POS. You're an adult.... act like it. I guess that pretty much says what I feel. LOL
That will be a nice reliable ride for you. I hope you find one in your price range and get years of pleasure from it. Do know, everything you do to it will cost more and most likely will keep costing but so do most of the things I enjoy doing. Good luck... MM
All I wanted was someone to speak their mind, thanks, and I thank everyone for telling me what they REALLY think. haha, but if you think im going to settle for a rice burner or a small compact car your dead wrong. Im a man, not a teenage girl. haha thanks everybody.
Level one out, get what you want but in my honest opinion a leveled out truck looks sharper than any skyjacked stuff. A leveling kit is cheap, wont wear and tear, and you keep the gas mileage. I drive a 99 z71, leveled out, got 33 on it. It will get 16 in town and 20 hwy. Still puttin rims and tires on it. Search levelr out on fb or carolina customs and youll see what I am talking about.
You're young. If you have the money and can afford the upkeep, and all extra costs associated with the lift, do it now while you have less responsibilities. I did the same thing through my college years. My advice? Do it right the first time. Most hillbilly trucks are absolute pieces of garbage with sub-par spacer lifts combined with ungodly body lifts or torsion bars cranked to the max, custom drop brackets welded in someone's garage, lift blocks in the rear, etc. These trucks not only show your true lack of intellect, but they're maintenance nightmares and a danger to others on the road. I actually saw a lifted Bronco shear off at the body mounts when it got in an accident because the person installed like 4 or 5" lift blocks with grade 5 hardware. Here's what my truck looked like right before I sold it five years ago: I built this to rock crawl, not mud. My advice again: stay away from mud holes. Mud and grit eat away at every bearing you can imagine. I 2.5" King Coilovers up front... Far beefier and stable than stock. Only thing I did regrettably to this truck is put a body lift on. Stay away from them. However, with that all being said, now that I'm 27 and old, I find massive lifts far less appealing and practical.
