Looks like I timed my fall plots just right. We had an inch of rain the week after I planted and another half inch the following week. At 2 weeks old they are looking pretty good. Oh and it helped that the temps were in the 80's and 90's instead of the 100's too. They like the bottom of the grooves the cultipacker leaves. That's where the most moisture is. The Daikon Radishes seem to be growing the fastest. These guys are good size for just 2 weeks. The red stemmed buckwheat is a deer favorite at my place. Here is a mix of Winter greens, Buckwheat and Radishes in a wet spot. Even the clover is coming back to life. It had been burned to a crisp. Persimmons have a decent crop too for the drought. A clover plot tucked back in a corner of my field. Looking North. The beans didn't grow very well in the drought and are being hammered by the deer. Milo is short, but is making some heads. Going to plant this spot along my trail in the woods in wheat and oats in another couple weeks.
Looks great, my buckwheat got pounded this year, something I planted after your positive feedback, thanks.
are those american persimmon or asian? I planted some american persimmon few years back, they are just starting to take off. Hopefully in a few more years I will have the only persimmon's in our area. time will tell!
I assume American, I didn't plant them and am sure they are just wild ones. I have them in a couple places on the property.
