I feel your pain a couple of years ago my brother's long time friend robbed our house. It was two days before christmas lucky most of the presents weren't in the house but needless to say it was still a dark christmas. To make matters worse the d-bag lived three house down and was bonded out the day he was arrested and since he was under 17 he got a slap on the hand for robbing six different houses. I wish you and your wife all the strength to endure this haness act. Stay strong Brother!

you know these things always have a way of working themselves out.them young boys where working for that older fella you should've jerked a knot in his ass right in the courtroom for wearing your boots the bastard probably got ya meat too. the young boys need direction and a change of lifestyle fore' they end up dead for breaking in on somebody but that brazen sum bi$$h wearing ya boots needs to go spend a few years with the dept.of correction and payback every dime plus intrest lucky they didnt do that crap in va they wouldnt see the light of day for a long long time. i'm sorry you and your family got put thru all that crap but its just material stuff you still got what matters most ya family and another day good luck to you hope everything turns out for you.

Man I know the feeling. I've had the same thing done to my parent's house when I lived there. You say he's friend's with your step daughter. That may be how they found out you would be out of town several days. Not blaming her, but just talk. A lot of times vics of burglaries have some kind of ties to the burglars. Not always, but quite a bit. Be sure to show up for all their court appearances and claim what a "nightmare" it has become for you. Wife unable to sleep at night, unsure about leaving the house, etc. That may get them a stiffer sentence. Hope fully they'll get what they deserve, and more.

Totally agree, it's unfortunate that it takes a wacko to give a crap about his neighbor. If we had more Joe Horns, theives might think twice.

Thanks for all the kind words folks... This whole ordeal is very frustration and time consuming... I'm still finding things that are missing and this happened a week and a half ago...

JZ - Once they got in our house they had my wife's keys so they had easy access the entire week we were away. The keys were later found in the basement. I guess we're lucky they didn't steal her car but we did have to change every lock and deadbolt on the house and garage... Which cost us about $600.00...Hopefully insurance covers the cost of them.
