Checked one of my trail cameras today and caught a bit of the transition on one camera...

A nice 3 1/2-year old probably, but I honestly don't know if I'd take him because of how messed up his rack is (I hunt public land, so 3 1/2-yr-olds are usually my cutoff point if they're big enough)

Different deer, but thought it was interesting how this one was already polished up on the same day. This guy would probably get a Muzzy through his breadbasket; love how his main beams almost meet. :)

Cool pics Grego  Yes they are in transition now. I watched a 135-140" behind my house this evening in hard horn then his buddy came out later around 125" in full velvet

There sure are a lot of funky racks out there this year.

My buddy sent me this picture from his property. No more velvet on him.

Seems I always have a couple that come out of velvet early here.

I'd imagine most all of the bucks in my area are shed by now. Mine was VERY close to shedding when I shot him on the 4th. his G4 was already poking through, and he may not have even had velvet 24 hrs later had I have not got a crack at him.

Several other shooters we have been tracking are most all shed by now as well.

They are 90%+ out of velvet here in SW OH. I've already found a few good rubs too. Now let's just hope these boys cooperate for all of us :)
