I recently moved my cam last Sunday to alongside our Turnip/Chicory/Wheat/Clover plot after seeing how much they've been digging and tearing into the turnips over the past two months. I checked it yesterday, had 81 pictures, but the batteries were dead (I think my batteries weren't fully charged :( ). Anyways, they're really hitting them, and we've got a pretty good number of deer feeding on the property. Thought I would share a few since I haven't posted many lately.

I have a new found love of turnips.

My turnip field barely had a deer tract in it until late Oct, even then, it was minor activity, at best. The deer literally walked AROUND the field, to and from other plots.

Once the weather got bad, and, snow settled in, they DESTROYED the turnips. I hunted that turnip field more than any field I've ever hunted, and, holy moly, being down wind of turnips and smelling them, could make a Marine cry for mommy...EW.

Nice photos. What kind of Turnips did you use ?

    Thanks, they're Purple Top.

MD, Turnips are a great post-season food source for deer here. I say post-season, because after a few seasons planting them off and on rotation in this field, they're hit hardest around the late January-Mid March timeframe. This plot is geared toward providing nutrition for all 4 season (hence the clover, wheat, and chicory mix).

Them does are huge. Our bucks don't look that big. Turnips are always good better after the first freeze too.
