Freaking sweet pictures! I am sure you hate as much as me the lengths we must go in IN to shut mineral sites down but pics like this is worth it!

Yep.. I do. Come Sept. 15th they all get cleaned up and fenced off with 6ft high chicken wire, and they are never hunted!

The fencing isn't a bad idea. Our CO requests we dig up a decent amount of the soil and then cover...I may bring the fencing up to him as that would be a lot easier and quicker....nice!

tyniMiller-- We actually discussed the fencing with our local CO before doing it and he said it would suffice, as it shows intent that we are not actively hunting/baiting the site. We also bring in a wagon load of new soil and cover the ground around the stumps with 3 inches of new soil every year. This new dirt actually help come the follow spring as you can mix up mineral in the soil with little or no effort. We have had many discussion with the CO on what would be permissible for hunting with sites on the properties.

I live in Columbus. We have ground in Bartholomew, Jackson, Jennings and Scott counties... Around 2700 acres total.

Some good deer down around Odon :)

Tell me about it! It's just finding time and a decent spot that has slowed down my explorations down there. If we ever go back to 2 bucks I'll prolly seek it harder. Seriously love the fencing idea rather than digging up trailer amounts of dirt and lugging deadfalls over onto them. Gonna call our CO this weekend.
