Just a whim, My son was driving through our lease today coming home from doing some work for a guy. It was around 3.00 pm and a slammer crossed the road in front of him. He said it was a Giant!! It has gotten ALOT colder here lately, just wondering if they might be out looking again, second rut maby?? just thought it was Odd one that big was showing his face in the middle of the day now. anybody seeing an increase in activity?

My dad saw a shooter last night about an hour before dark headed across an open field with another buck. I also got trailcam pics of two shooters during broad daylight yesterday. Not sure what it is, but something had them on their feet.

I saw a big 10 I've been after last Monday and Tuesday, and then Thursday while gun hunting I saw 5 does and 2 small bucks together. I took the largest doe, and she was far from being in estrous.

    That makes 2 of us..

It has slowed down but I think the colder weather is gonna get them on their feet. I noticed they just finally started munching on one of my little brassica plots so I'm going to give that a go on my next evening hunt. If it is anything like last year around me, they'll start moving more once again soon... Especially with the pressure of gun season dwindling down soon. I'm hunting with my bow but I've been hearing a decent amount of shots (still ML season) across the valley so I guess they're up on their feet for some people :o.

Sounds like you have a nice prospect buck for next year Crick

I have one more week of the PA gun season and I would be happy if they would just hunker down and make it through. Looking forward to the second season.

Nothing all week, then today a large 10 point, but no shot. And I decided to not use my decoy. Big mistake!
