    BUSTED!!!!!!!!!

Only doe tags left for me now. I'm sitting at the edge of a hay field last night. About 50 yards to the left of me pops out 2 does. One was a big ole momma. She hangs a right and heading right to me. Gets to broadside then slightly quartering away. The other doe is in lala land and facing away from me looking the other direction. About 15 yards away I say to myself.. man this is too easy. Just as I start to draw about 20 yards back right of me I hear blowing and crashing and tails flying everywhere. Snap my head back around in front and the other two were in an all out carl lewis looking dash across the field. I think the deer behind me teleported or something. I didn't hear or see a stinking thing lol. I got it handed to me pretty good.

You just shot a VERY nice buck, you didn't think it was ALL going to go so smoothly did you?:poke:Jk, but yes, they are VERY humbling at times.

I got busted this morning by a small buck .... my fault ... I got going late ... the wind was perfect for a spot I had in mind and it was "good" for my ladder stand.... but the idiot that I am, I logged on the puter when I woke up and got out later than I wanted to.

So I get there and high step it to my ladder, since I can just crawl up fast and be hunting .... wind not bad for the first hour .... then it was like 20+ mph sustained winds ...I just kept thinking, "You aint gonna see anything in these winds ... but I went for the ride (literally) anyway.

About 9am I see a buck coming in a direction he will cross my wind ... now it's blowing HARD .... he is about 40 yards out, hits the scent stream and he got outta Dodge fast .... kept me in the tree for a few more hours .... nothing after that .....

Oh yeah ... forgot my dang cell phone .. which was kinda nice ...

:) Yep, in my limited experience, when it comes to does it's the ones you didn't even know were there that'll make you feel like an idiot. Been there on multiple occasions.:D

Good luck brother! (I'll be looking for that text). :tu:

I'd be going too but I've gotta stop and get a new iPhone. My hydration bladder leaked in my pack weekend before last and soaked my 3GS. Time to try the iPhone 4.
