I seriously think their chances were greatly reduced because of officiating. Dallas definitely enjoyed the calls. Idk I only saw Dallas play during the 4th quarter
I HATE Jerry Jones but I'm pulling for the Cowboys (first time ever saying that, lol) to beat the Pack. As for that call yeah it was pass interference easily I think but it didn't decide the game IMO.
The head of officials has made a statement ... NFL head of officials says that debatable no-call in Lions-Cowboys game should have been called defensive holding. http://t.co/ZgAY6FjRce
This is why I'm becoming more a of a baseball fan. Not nearly as many judgement with calls and now that they've instituted instant replay, it's ALMOST flawless. Basketball is the same as football, too many different opinions.
A lot of folks arguing that it was pass interference[me included] and a lot saying it was not... explain me then why that every current and retired ref I have seen today on several sports shows says it was as well as the hold before and the Dallas player on the field with no helmet arguing with the officials... three no calls on one play...
There was a hold on Witten in the fourth quarter that went uncalled but nobody is talking about that. You'd be amazed at how many calls are missed during a game. The only reason everyone is getting upset is because they announced the penalty then picked up the flag. Refs pick up a flag every single game. In regards to Dez coming onto the field: "Dean Blandino, the NFL's head of officials, said Monday on NBC Sports Radio, Bryant being flagged for his presence on the field was up to the official and the official on Sunday had "discretion" to decide whether Bryant's actions warranted a penalty. The rule of being penalized for standing on the field of play without a helmet applies to the players participating in the game at that time."
You conveniently forgot to mention the offensive pass interference (grabbing the facemask). Funny how that works.
It is easy to be critical after you watch a play in slow motion from 3 different angles vs real time game action.
The refs have the same ability. That's why they have replay now. Multiple views, slowing down, speeding up. Everything we see they can see. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
How would they call offensive pass interference if the Dallas player made contact with the Detroit player before the ball was even in catching range? And Pettigrew had his Jersey held before that lol
Blown calls toward the end of a game always gets blown out of proportion because people want something to blame if they lose, if this happened in the first quarter, this conversation wouldn't exist. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
With this getting so much attention I could see the Cowboys getting a record amount of penalties next game. Just seems like the refs will want to call everything now.
One of my favorite lacrosse coaches from the past once told me (and team). It's very simple. Don't let the outcome of the game come down to the calls the refs make. One of the lessons I handed down to EVERY team I've coached in any sport was; I don't want to hear a single word about the refs/umps. If there's a bad call, don't whine about it and NEVER argue with an official. Take it out of their hands and go win regardless. If you lose I don't want to hear any excuses. You simply didn't play well enough to win. Work harder and do better.
