I recall seeing that exact same expression from people convinced wrestling was lagit. Denial is a b*tch. That's okay, as long as you are entertained then that's all that really matters right.
So? Is that the best evidence to argue against the assertion that other sports are rigged? That just means they do a good job of keeping it quiet or refuted and a lot of people are in denial of the sham.
By rule, every time. That doesn't mean the refs throw the flag, but by rule it's a penalty every time.
Nice...and so insightful, I applaud you sir. Those on my side should maybe be so creative and invent a counterpart contraption as a comeback to that question. Maybe a greased latex cap for easy insertion and removal of heads up buts or something...wouldn't that be a hoot. A certain NBA ref winning ~80% of his bets kind of indicates tinfoil helmets aren't needed. Coupled with a league that relaxed rules afterwards of the scandal. Manipulating wins and losses are not illegal for these leagues, they are for entertainment and as such there is no law that says these organizations can't voluntarily and knowingly control win/loss outcomes. It's just good business and all about the money.
I just want one more confirmation to be sure I fully understand. You think the NFL is rigged Covey? Like the outcome is known upfront? And the players are in on the rigging. Is that correct? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Not necessarily in every case but that's the gist of it. It's more than likely a layered system and compartmentalized to limit threat of full disclosure by any lower "loose cannons" that may develop a conscience. If something like that occurs, they have to be able to have plausible deniability. The only time crooked refs or players get nailed is when they go against the narrative that's sought, then they are on their own and once convicted they have no credibility as to their statements and accusations. Just so I understand, you believe these sports organizations are not manipulated at all and just believe that it's all based on "let the best man/team win"? Be careful about the can of worms that stance could open....just sayin.
Jimmy Superfly Snuka tore his ACL jumping off the ropes. However he did land a blow to Hulk Hogan who had to go through concussion testing and had to sit out 2 weeks. Missed the steel cage match against Andre the Giant who was doubtful with a hammy, but showed up with his A game.
Back to real life..... Lets not forget the Lions were given a big break before the coin toss. Suh should not have been able to play. Suspended for a game.... nope... change our minds lets let him play. Enough with the conspiracy theories. If the NFL was pro Cowboys and wanted to bend the rules so they advance why let Suh play after he was suspended originally? Kind of like picking up a flag.
Head of Refs confirms Dallas Anthony Hitchens should have been flagged for Defensive Holding on Lions TE in 4th quarter.
Happens every week in every game. The refs could throw 100 more flags per game by letter of the law. Was told to get back to the sidelines and did. Magnified 1000 times because of the situation. In comparison how many times do you see basketball coaches outside the coaching box? About 75% of the game. Would make for about a 9 hour game to call everything according to the book. I don't think any fan wants a playoff game decided by a penalty like that. JMO Ohhhh NOW I understand.. lol
It's amazing people want to cite that play as why the Lions lost. Lot of Cowboy hate out there, I get it. But come on! That wasn't even that much of a game changer. 8 plus minutes left. If this if that..... The fact of the matter is the Cowboys handed it to them in the second half. Lions possessions were : 2 punts, an interception, a field goal and 2 fumbles. A 17-3 scoring difference and no TD since first quarter. Bad call cost them the game? Mmmhmmm
and I don't think a team like Detroit wants to be credited to another playoff loss due to poor officiating. Do you think the officiating would have been different if Suh didn't play?
Nothing to do with eachother. I was just denouncing conspiracy theories. You seriously think the Lions lost because of the officiating? I'm still awaiting someone to tell me how the Lions werent' called for running into the kicker like the Cowboys were. Or how in the world it was offensive pass interference by Williams on that 3rd down. Bad calls happen and go both ways. No calls happen and go both ways. It's always been like that and always will be. Who do you think the better team on the field was in that game? Honestly
