OK.. So I have a wood burner in my basement that is tied into my furnace. My furnace pulls air from an enclosed area around my woodburner to use it's radiated heat to heat the house.

I had a thermostat installed that only gives me the options of "cool", "off", and "warm". The other switch for the fan is "on" or "auto".

I need a thermostat that I can have just the blower motor come on once my house cools below the temp I want to keep my house at.

The only way I can do that now is to put it on heat and waste propane while the furnace pulls the heat from my woodburner.

So basically I need a thermostat that will work as described... However I know nothing about them and would like a hand picking the one best for my needs.

I'm not sure how ours is set up but I'll ask my Dad. We have a similar setup I believe... we have the blower on the wood stove that kicks on and pushes the air through our central ducts.

Any thermostat with a mercury switch willl do it. thats what you are looking for. Digital ones are more accurate, but even the old school ones could be wired into your setup pretty easily
all thats happening is there are 2 pieces of metal with different expansion rates fused together, so when it cools off they extend or coil. then there is a glass toube mounted on them with contacts in one end and a ball of mercury, so when the coil coils up to a certain point, on comes the heater.
