F2EAEA97-22EB-4BE6-BD47-9C8B8F140AC0.png sorry if this has been discussed already but has anyone used one of these? Thought it would be useful on accessing morning stands. If it works like it says out to 600 yds it could save a lot of bumped deer while you re think your approach or change locations. Just a thought but another one of those technology taking the fun out of it topics I’m sure.

Check your laws- Illegal to use while possessing a weapon in some states.

I figured as much. Probably illegal in Illinois. Don’t know why though. How in the hell would you hold that to your eye while shooting your bow. I guess gorilla tape might do the trick but I’m not that desperate.

Also just to be clear, my purpose would be to avoid deer in the dark, not use this thing to kill them.

That's a large price just to avoid deer that will probably come back anyway. To each their own.

Agreed. It would just be a cool thing in general though. Maybe I could see when my neighbor sneaks out to his beer fridge so I could pop in and drink some of his beer for once. That would pay for itself in the long run

I dunno dude... I hunt some properties that there just is no sure-fire way to walk in w/o blowing out bedded deer, and I can guarandamntee they don't come back to those beds for a day or more after getting jumped. I pay darn near $1000 a year in tags $700 for a one-time purchase seems worth it to me.

I have heard of guys using them also to recover deer after dark. You can scan the dark woods and see the heat signature from the dead deer. But also hear that they won't see thru thick cover to well.

That’s a great idea as well. I enjoy the challenge of tracking the deer myself but if it comes down to losing an animal there isn’t a technology out there that I wouldn’t use.
