Hey guys wanted to get some opinions on the use of a thermacell. I’ve had one for years and hunt mostly out of lock-on stands or climbers. Within the last two weeks a good friend has started letting me strictly bow hunt a piece of his land so I found a spot I liked and threw up a ground blind. I was concerned about having the thermacell in an enclosed blind and breathing in the repellent. Anyone have any thoughts on this a far as it causing health or medical issues from breathing it in since it’s a chemical? Thanks in advance

I love thermacell and have used it a ground blind before. I'd rather breathe some chemicals for a while than get eaten alive by mosquitos. Sometimes, you can run it for just 1 hr then turn it off and that may be enough for them to leave you alone

I use mine in my blind all the time, especially for spring turkey. Never had any sort of rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreaction from it. J/K! Very low odor and if I don't see the vapor most of the time I forget it's even on. Had young deer within 3 yards of my blind too and no reaction from them smelling anything. The vapor will work around the entire inside of the blind so you could clip it to the opposite side if you don't want it right under your nose.

I wouldn’t worry about it. I have used one in a ground blind for a few years. Never noticed a problem.

I have worked with insecticides a long time and the insecticide given off from Thermacell is basically nill to us. Or else it would not have gotten a label food the application to the pads by EPA. Much more health concerns from allowing mosquitoes to bite you with what they can carry.
