Have any of you used the Thermacell portable mosquito repellant appliance? If so, how did you like it? Supposedly it states that it is scent free and undetectable to animals. If this is the case, I am ready to get one, since I was getting eaten alive my mosquitos in my treestand yesterday afternoon.

I use one almost everyday that I'm in the stand in October. It's worth every penny. You can actually see the smoke and at times you can smell it. It hasn't ever seemed to bother the deer though. Buy one, you won't regret it

I believe you can get it in fresh earth scent.

I love mine and use it all year long. You can definetly smell it but haven't had any issues with it. I won't go into the woods without it!

They rock. Bow opener this year was 80 degrees+ and I was hunting near some pretty good sized swamps.... not a single skeeter was anywhere near me within a couple minutes of turning it on. They are worth every penny. Don't seem to bother the deer either...

I use it and they work great. Never had an issue with the smell spooking game.

Tested mine out sunday evening in Chacahoula, Louisiana.

I waited until the skeeters were swarming around my legs and I couldn't stand it. I then fired up the thermacell and placed it on the ground at my feet. It took a good ten minutes or so to get the unit warmed up all the way but as soon as visible fumes started coming off of the pad, the mosquitos were gone. Works like a charm.

If it works in the Louisiana swamp, it will work anywhere. Our mosquitos swim in deet and eat citronella candles for dinner. lol

In east Texas where I hunt the skeeters are often mistaken for sparrows. I won't hunt warm, (55 degrees +), weather without one.

Well, now I know why we had our first frost on Opening Day here in Michigan. I bought a Thermacell. I haven't had to use it yet. It was like watching it rain the day after you wash your truck.

All I can say is they absolutely work! I even bought a patio model for warm evenings on our deck.

They are worth their weight in gold. I have the earth scent pads for mine this year and they work great.

    Thanks for the feedback.

If there is a mosquito anywhere in the county, it will find me. All afternoon in my stand I could hear that familar buzz around my ears. Still scratching forehead, temples, neck, jaw, hands, back of head, arm... The suckers bit me through my hunting clothes and face hood (granted they were made of light weight material). I am going to pick a Thermacell up on the way home from work tonight. This weekend I will enjoy sitting in my stand in peace.
