hey guys, i just got a new thermacell at bass pro and im no sure weather to use it inside a ground blind or not it talks about the health problems with the fumes... also turkey hunting, im thinking about buying the holster with it and wraping it around my leg when im walking and just sitting down if a bird comes in but it says that the grill has to face up and it has to be on a flat surface. id like to leave it on when walking around and when i sit. thanks
My experience is that they don't work well while walking. I used mine last year turkey and deer hunting as well as golfing and found that the bugs bothered me while I walked but it was quite effective when sitting in a stand or on the ground. I think that the idea is it creates a cloud around you while standing or sitting still.
I simply place mine just OUTSIDE of my blind window and it works great! I also agree with drenman as far as walking...it 's not effective.
