Has anyone used them and are they worth the price tag? I'm more interested in the ones with the removable battery. I know they're more expensive but that's something that seems like it would be a benefit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I've heard a few mixed things from store employees. Looking forward to what others here have to say. Every time time temps start dropping into the teens I start thinking about them again.
Ive definitely thought about it. Thats what makes the me most miserable. If it helps you stay on stand even for a few extra hrs then there worth it if you can afford it.
Yeah I always struggle with keeping my feet warm on stand. I have the Muck Woody Max's and would love the Arctic Pros. I used some attic shield boot covers and hand warmers last year and they helped a lot Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Same here on boots. Need to up grade to the Arctics and go a size bigger for thicker socks. I Might just try that instead of the therma- cells. Need a new pair any way and might just work as good.
I usually throw hand warmers in my boots. Ive been interested in these but havent heard enough about them to buy em. Interested to hear also from people that have used them
I got a pair of the cheaper ones for xmas w/o the removable battery. They work great. They have 3 heat settings, it has a thermostat so it maintains a constant temp in the boot. I turn them on after an hour in the stand and have been very toasty. Definitely need a larger boot as they are not flexible and a little bulkier than a normal insole. But I highly recommend them after using them for the last month + of last season.
I have them and I love them, will not leave home without them during cold hunts. I have had trouble with keeping my feet warm for years. I have tried different socks, I've tried different boots, I've tried multiple socks. I have had situations when my feet actually get hot and I have to turn the Thermacell's off.
Last year was the first year I really stand hunted with warm feet in cold temps. My first suggestion is to get rid of the neoprene/rubber boots. Your feet simply can't breathe in them when you work up a lather on the way in. Then when you stop and sit....your feet are wet. Last year I went to 400 gram Cabela's Perfekt Hunters. I wear a heavy weight smart wool sock. That's what I wear on the way in even in below zero temps. Then if it's cold once in the stand, I wear a pair of HotMocs with up to two pairs of hand warmers. I've done all day sits in single digit temps with this setup and I believe it's the best of both worlds. Best part is the HotMocs pack in a sack the size of a baseball so they take up almost no room on the way in.
I have had a hard time keeping my feet warm, trying everything from deodorant on my feet and when I get to the stand changing my socks, my feet sweat bad. Once my feet get cold I am done I can not sit still. But I got the artic shield covers and throw in a hot hands with them and that has worked the best for me.
How do you like the hot Mocs? Have you tried the arctic shield boot blankets? If so how do they compare? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Same here with the cold feet, Especially when my girl talks marriage. But thats another story. I am just havin trouble spending 129 bucks on some thing I feel will break in a couple wks. Or won't even do the job at all. I was reading about alpaca's. I ended up buying 2pr. of alpaca wool socks. They are amazing. The warmest my feet have ever been in 60 yrs. However when predator hunting in -20 your feet do eventually get cold.
I used these 2 years ago when they 1st came out, I found they didn't do anything for me. I actually thought I didn't turn them on the 1st time out. There still sitting on the top shelf in there case. That reminds me I should go down stairs and retrieve them and put them in the garbage! Wasted money in my mind . Rocky
Just looked at a set the other day at a product fair! It even had a remote, hot, warm and off! Pretty pricy though, they also had rechargeable hand warmers
I've heard a lot of mixed reviews about the heated insoles. My take on it is they just wouldn't last long enough. I have a pair of hot mocs. I think they are great as long as you put them on prior to your feet getting cold. IMO...
I have a pair of them. They work pretty well. I leave them off until my feet actually start to get a little chilly. They dont get hot to where my feet are sweating but you can definitely tell they are on. The only thing i really dont like it the remote. Its just like a garage door opener. The buttons are very easy to press while walking to your stand. If they would have made the remote a little different they would be great. Other than that no complaints. I doubt i would have ever spent the money for them though. It is a very steep price. Mine were given to me.
I have a set with built in battery and they are great. they last about 5 hours so I turn them on with the remote when the feet get chilled and turn them off when I don't need them. they are pricey but highly recommended.
I've not had the need, liner socks, wool over those and 800gr boots have been enough through days where lows were -20 and highs about -10. Only time I've ever had cold feet was the result of the boots and sock combination being to tight on my feet. I might look into the rechargeable hand warmers though.
You must have better socks and boots than me. I have a pair of 800 gram leather boots that fit loosely that I use when it gets really cold and my feet can't make it all day without toe warmers or something when the temps near 20 and below. My feet being on a metal stand absolutely freezes them. I've tried countless wool socks and I always wear a liner sock or thin cotton sock underneath. I can deal with anything else being cold but your feet being cold makes for a struggle. Especially on those all day sits. I generally have a shortish walk so sweating is not an issue but if I do have to walk a long ways, I'll change socks when I get to the stand Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
