While sitting in the stand tonight I came up with an idea. I took my evercalm and put some on my thermacell patch. The heat melted it and kept pumping out the thermacell scent. It didn't seem to bother the deer that I had downwind of me. What are your thoughts on this?

Sounds good to me. Same concept as the fresh earth.

Sounds like a good idea. I just use the earth scent thermacell and it works fine.

Someone was telling me the other day that when heated it had a stronger smell , they were wearing it like deodorant though . Think I like your idea better :)

It does have a stronger smell. I put just a few clumps on it and that's all I needed

Good idea. I'll definitely try it. Unfortunately thermacells are as necessary as my bow where I hunt.

Where do you guys get the earth scent thermacell pieces? I've looked and all I can find is the regular.

Don't use thermacell. But I do use EverCalm. It should be in every bow hunters bag. Great stuff.

I didnt realize that there was an earth scent thermacell. Yesterday was my first time using it and I could smell the regular one and was wondering how the deer would react to it. Thats why I put the evercalm to help mask it. For the guys that use just the regular thermacell patch, have you noticed the deer reacting to the smell?

EverCell... ThermaCalm. I might just have to test this in the back yard this weekend.

I use the regular patches, and I too smell them and wondered if it would have an effect on the deer. A doe still came in range at 20 yrds. Still need a few more tests though.

Let us know how it works for you. I had four doe in on me last night and it didn't seem to bother them. I tell you though that my clothes smelled like evercalm too from it burning. You guys are my witnesses.. If conquest comes out with evercalm thermacell patches...lawsuit...just kidding

I use the regular thermacell every time I walk into the woods and have never had a problem with the deer smelling it... I havent ever used the earth scent ones mainly because of the confidence I have in regular thermacell. That being said I would go with whatever you feel more confident using.

I had 9 deer walk within 10 yards of my stand and directly under it with two Thermacells going with no issues. I think the Ever Calm would be an added bonus!
