Trying something I've never tried before, putting someone else on there first deer. I plane to do it from a cheap old ground blind I "inherited" (well i went ice fishing with a buddy who left it in my truck and shipped off to Korea). Anyway, I have a few places picked out in my head (all public land). Acting as a guide for my wife. Should be interesting...
Thats really awsome, but I think I'd be happy with a small doe and if its a doe it'll be small or a buck for that matter. If you've ever seen a Louisiana "deer" you'd know what I'm saying..lol.
Congratulations on getting your spouse interested in getting on a deer. I'm still trying to convince mine to pick up a bow, rod or gun let alone actually kill something with it.
I'm trying to get my wife involved also and wanted to start a thread on the topic. My wife love watching all the bow hunting shows and has interest in getting a bow but just doesn't know if she wants to shoot anything. ps. This is one of those fantastic things to do together to help keep the spark in a marriage. Women love doing things with their husbands and getting his full attention is always a plus. Just keep it down out there in those ground blinds. No pun intended
Let me clarify she shot a doe her first year 3rd sit. Didn't see a buck that sparked her intrest the second year. Then the first sit on the 3rd year pow.
The frau Okay fine young people- the wife (frau) allways wants to hunt with me. She can shoot my old savage .222 and can pick a tick off a fly's ass at 100 yards. However, she does'nt really want to kill them. We've diceded that i am going to bow hunt for these animals (you see, our rules are, you shoot them, you clean them) - just kidding - we make our own sausage & panas (only you germans know what panas is)- she turns the sausage casings (which i dare you any of your wifes would do) and when buthchering-make a party out this. Everybody needs to know how to process their harvest. It's the way we were raised-it is fun! -opa
At first she didn't express interest in the "killing" part but she really enjoys shooting with me and I call her to come see the deer I harvest which I think really turned her on to it. Anyway whoever said keep it down in the ground blind..I was thinking the same thing..lol.
