The vents make noise yes, dont find it any more more noisy then any other vented head I ever used. The price is commiserate with the quality, I think you gain so value in the fact that you will he using them until you loose them. I have yet to damage one on game. I like them but I can certainly understand the price being prohibitive.
My old hunting belt gave out so I ordered these last month. Exceeded all expectations. Ordered another set.
I'd be interested in what you think of the Obsians. I have both of these, so I'd like to hear your thoughts once you try em out. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I will report back after I have worn them! I was hesitant on the Obsidian's due to some reviews on durability but I think they'll work out just fine. Plus they were on sale at firstlite.com.
Obsidian Pants are great if you're walking through portions without a lot of thorns and briars, as they tear rather easily. I would also watch sitting on these for hours glassing thinking it may wear rapidly on the rocks and such. Some boot gaiters may help for the lower portion of the pant. I have the Obsidian Pants and I only really wear them when I'm walking to and from already established stands and paths. When I'm venturing into rather uncharted territory, I'll be wearing my Corrugate Guide Pants. They are a very sturdy pant. Sent from my SM-G965U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I’d have a hard time buying hunting clothing that I need to treat like a suit and tie. I ground hunt a lot so I guess buying fragile hunting clothes wouldn’t work for me. Thanks for the review!
I have the obsidian and like any piece of gear they have limits and purpose. No they are not built to brush bust or wade through briar thickets, but they aren't totally fragile either. They are freakishly comfortable I can tell you that and with a good baselayer I was good on stand above freezing and perfect on warmer days. I'm pretty sure that is their best seller too, so they have that going for em. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app

Picked up some 75 grain brass inserts for the new set of Black Eagle Renegades that I am building for next season. Time to build arrows that are going punch through the offside shoulder, not get stuck in it.
