Well Germ, I own my own business and there are years that my pay is cut by a much steeper margin than that. But, I have to run my business on a budget and am not willing to borrow a lot of money to pay myself. I will not run in deficit. Nobody wants to talk about the years some businesses make a small or zero profit margin. But, when they have a record profit, the libs start suggesting that the business isn't paying enough in taxes. The "unfair" card is played, and that business is assumed to be taking advantage of their employees and the tax system. Thats the asenine part.

Fletch like I said I agree with you pretty much. I for sure do not want to raise taxes on any small business. When your profit goes down my guess it's because of less consumers buying your product correct? So having more consumers with disposable income would be good for you.

I am not saying raising any taxes, how do we get more consumers in this economy to get it started. Just cutting taxes is not going to fix the problem in the long term.

Nope! again this is not debatable. People out of work have ZERO disposable income. They cant be consumers. When more hiring takes place and more bussiness comes to WI and hires more people, then and only then with they have disposable income and increase their consumerisim. Not until.

So you want to raise taxes on small businesses. Why?

Where do consumers get their money? How does one get to have a disposable income??

By having those people working and darwing an income from jobs created by business and industry that comes to WI or hires more people to companies already here.

Walker's reforms will put more people to work. Those people in turn will be consumers and have a disposable income, not before. Think about the inverse. If WI tripled the unemployment rate. Those unemployed people would consume and buy less. Why? Because they lost their income (both regular and disposable)

Your way of thinking is that those out of work people should just spend more and things would get better. Nope! that is how liberal government thinks.

Dude why would more business come to Wis if they do not have any consumers with cash?

Businesses go where the consumers are, you can set a tax rate of 0 for RIM(blackberry) and they still will go out of business. They have shrinking consumer base.

Look at apple, was jobs rich when he thought of the company apple? Including me how many people have benefited from his ideas and devices. Was their start up capital needed? Absolutely, but was has made apple the number 1 sales of consumer electronics?

Why is it so hard to accept consumers drive this economy?

Are you serious??? You are not thinking this through. Business and industry comes to WI not based on consumers with income but rather because of low tax rates and a business friendly environment made up of people with a good work ethic that will make them money when they come to work for them. I find it odd that this neds tob e explained to anybody.

Because that is not at all true. You really fail to understand this. Consumers have no money if they dont have jobs. That is why both parties spoke about jobs being needed in WI to improve the economy.

These are all good news and a result of the election and the recall. Businesses want to come to a Walker lead WI and know they would be heavily taxed (discouraging them from coming to WI) under a Barrett lead WI. Elections matter. In this most recent case, WI taxpayers won, big time. The future of employment and business and industry won big time. The future of the WI economy won big time.

Those who wanted somebody else to pay for their bennies and wanted perks paid for by somebody else lost big time.

and yes, I agree, this (my view) is from the middle and I too find it funny that guys like you on the extream left who fail to understand this can rail on.

Ok you go with that, I'll go with 70% of our enconmy comes from consumers. Yes being business friendly is a piece of the puzzle and I did not say it was not.

Business has no money if they do not have consumers:argue:

Disposable income is what we have left after meeting out obligations. (paying our debts, utility bills, food, gas and after you paid your taxes). If you don’t have a job, not only do you not have a disposable income, you have no income.

That is Why the Walker reforms have improved the business climate in WI and why unemployment is the lowest its been since 2008. Having a 6.8% unemployment rate means people are working and have money to spend on goods.

Poorly run Governments tend to spend more than they take in and run a deficit. Now they have to pay down their debt and continue to pay for annual operations. Deficit spending is what is destroying many states. WI does not have that problem. As such, business and industry wants to come to WI and employ people. The business climate is improving here daily and had a great boost as a result of the results of last Tuesday’s recall. This is the future we all want.

If you insist upon sticking to your misguided assertion that Wisconsin’s financial future hinges on consumer spending, how do you suppose to increase people’s disposable income in WI if they are out of work???? You seem to be insisting that if people only spent more, that WI would be a more attractive business environment and that WI would be in better financial shape. Where do people get that money to spend more?

If 70% of econony is consumer driven, I guess I am misguided:lmao:There is no silver bullet fix, but I would start with Education reform. I would all but get rid of the Dept of Education, teachers know best how to teach kids. We need to find a way to get the top students to become teachers, Finland has figured it out, so can we. It's not all about pay for Finland, it's pretty cool how they do it.

Followed by fixing our infrastructure, you know the one the generation before us built that we all prosper off of now. You can have low taxes, but if your town/state looks like a dump, no one will live their or build a business their.

Business love smart people, how much money did Jobs have when he started Apple? How many jobs has Steve Jobs, Bill Gates and others created through their ideas?

Yes we need business, we need folks with money to invest, but what we need more our smart people and lots of them to think new ideas for new jobs of tomorrow and teachers to teach our kids to do those Jobs.

We need to fix healthcare, it is killing small companies and large companies in this country. I honestly do not know what to do, I honestly believe making people buy health insurance and taking responibilty for their healthcare was the way to go. What ever we do, we have to force people to take care of their health. This we will just do what ever we want and take a pill later to fix it is killing all of us.

I think you meant to say "teachers union" Then I would agree with you. ;)

It starts with jobs. Then when we have 5% or less unemployment and people have incomes and disposable incomes and the tax base increases due to all the wage earners and those wage earners are buying gas and groceries and cars and homes and all manner of non-essential goods, it builds up all businesses.

A rising tide lifts all boats. Walker understands that and is working to bring jobs to WI.

Well you said it a rising tide, not trickle down.

I believe the best test scores come from Finland where they have teachers union, 95% I believe. why you want to be a socialist and dictate what groups people want to join is your business. I really don't care what they do as long as they do their jobs.

Logic insists that its a mindset in Finland that values education and it comes from the home. Lets take perhaps 1000 of those Finn teachers and air drop them into Milwaukee for 2 years. Those that are still alive or havent already escaped MPS would tell you its the parents and family unit and the culture of Finland at the heart of the matter and not the unions.

There is the crux of the matter. With the teachers union, even if they dont do their job and suck at teaching, the teachers union will protect them and keep them in their job. Then the teachers union will fight to get into my wallet and demand that they get free viagra.

As a person on the extreme fringe on the left, you seem to agree with the most extreme leftists in the Obama inner circle. This is what Obama's chief strategist said yesterday.

I am more centrist and with a the middle ideology. I laugh at you extremists on both sides of this. ;)

I wonder why WI tearchers (and especially MPS teachers) are not turning out kids at the level of Finland?? Both have had unions and still do so it cant be the unions educating the kids.

Are you that warped to the right you cannot even read, lol. Where did I state we hire more teachers? This is like O'riley the no spin zone.

Funny I give you examples, you take them twist and spin them your way and come back at me with Viagra, you win;)

Well for one Finland has almost zero poverty level. They get top 1/3 rd of their students to become teachers. 1 out 8 who apply get accepted to become a teacher. They are treated like professionals and not a scape goat. They spend 9000.00 student, but all 9000.00 goes for the student and teacher development. No busing or sports at their schools. They have socialize healthcare, so money for the schools goes to the school. It took them 15 years to get to the top. Most important are the teachers dictate what is learned in the class room, not the government.

Actually Wisconsin won and won bigtime. :woot:

I'm just providing you substance (which always trumps opinion)

I'm sitting here in the middle laughing at you guys on either side of this.

If there is any justice in the world, the supreams, in about 2 weeks will strike down Obama's government healthcare. That will be nearly as sweet a victory as the Walker win.

    This makes no sense, lol.

You realize they are striking down one part of the law. The piece that came from the GOP, and Romney stated himself was a very conservative piece.

Take your time. I've read your posts. You appear to be a far left fella. Those of us that are more centrist laugh as you guys on both sides of this. Its pretty simple. you offer up only opinion, I provide links of substance in an effort to enlighten and inform you. Finally, WI won big time because the majority of the voters didnt fall for the tantrum thrown by the unionistas and fiscal sanity won the day over unsustainable policies. It makes perfect sense. (if you are not in denial)
