I think it's great Walker won.
I'm in corporate. When times were tough I had to cut back. My company had to make consessions. We didn't give raises, bonuses, had to start contributing to healthcare.
Did I complain, shoot no! They did it so that we could all stay working. Instead of laying off half our workforce, we had people changing light bulbs, painting floors, working only 4 days a week.
Everyone made consessions, from the vice president to the janitor. We did it so we all had a job. The employees are simply using the union as a way to shield themselves from the consessions everyone else had to make.

I think what Walker doing is very good for Wicsonsin. A state cannot maintain a defecit. It kills me that the country is, people seem to think there's no problem with that, and that nothing is being done about it but more money spent.

Walker is a Conservative hero. His crushing the lib tantrum is the best thing that could have happened for families and WI taxpayers. Lets hope the libs get over this and conceed and understand they are the ones that need to make concessions and go to Walker, not the other way around.

This will hopefully usher in even more aggressive reformes in WI. Perhaps even making WI a right to work state.

I agree with you here. But, I think the libs will continue to scream about how unfair life is for those that dont get their way when they whine. Afterall, there are people out there that have MORE money than some of them do. In thier mind, that just isnt fair.

Walker has said he will not push for Right to work. At least not in this term.

Fletch while I agree to point, I heard the same argument about the pensions and benefits they had and you(not you fletch, but those who did not) didn't.

I have backed Synder's reforms at cost of money out of my own family. 18% is what my wife now makes less in take home pay. I wonder how many here would back walker or any Gov who takes that much of a chunk money out of your pocket.

Sitting in the middle I just laugh at the two sides and how asinine they both are.

I don’t think making people pay for their own benefits is on either side or asinine or that a state should exist on deficit budgets. I don’t think taxpayers being on the hook for hefty union perks is sustainable (other states are just now coming to that realization.) I think I am more of a centrist than on either side of these issues but I understand that a state’s financial woes are something that must be fixed ASAP and not just pushed onto the next generation. Thankfully Walker had the plums to take on the difficult issues and make some tough choices. That’s refreshing for an elected official. Hopefully Walker will be in charge for a very long time.

Well watch the coverage from the middle and you will laugh;)

I have heard the same line used from both sides

    "pay their fair share"
If it was 18% out your pocket I would love to see how gun ho you are, sure I know you would be, but talk is cheap

Hopefully, everyone would support it. To continue operating at a deficit budget would eventually eliminate some of the jobs completely. The libs tend to just turn a blind eye to that situation and assume that the money will magically appear some day. All they think they need to to is take it from those that seem to have a little more than they need. lol

I am a social conservative and fiscal libertarian. My wife is an educator. These cuts had to be made. I pay for my benefits and I pay for the benefits of others. Their benefits are taken directly from my pay in the form of taxes. Increased benefits and pensions that grow and grow are not sustainable and are the cause of the troubles in the states that are in the most dire financial straits. WI lawmakers fixed the problem before it got to the breaking point. Lots of other states wish they had WI's fiscal restraint and state budget.

WI is more and more attractive to business which means more workers and more tax revenue. These are all good things. The Walker win was huge for the taxpayer. The lib tantrum failed. I'm glad its over.

Wis like other states do not need more business, we need more consumers with disposable income, which will bring more business. Have a tax rate of zero with no consumers, see what you get;)

This is a consumer driven economy. Does walker's cuts take money out of your pocket?

On that point you are very much wrong. More businesses mean more jobs, more people paying taxes, more homes built and more goods bought and sold which has the net effect of building the enconomy. this is tried and trued and not debatable.

Huh? People become consumers and have disposable incomes when they have jobs. You cant spend when you are out of work. Having more industry in WI hiring more people will provide people with disposable income and turn them into consumers. This also is not debatable.

It is if people have money to be consumers. That happens when companies hire more people or when new companies come to WI.

Yes but since my taxes didnt go up, it almost net zero. My property taxes also actually went down last year. ITs working. The reforms are working and had to be made.

Dude this is a consumer driven economy, business owners need consumers, workers needs business owners. It all works together, but if Wis avg income was 5000 grand higher, how much better would you be?
