The wait is killing me!!!!!!

Oh yeah, I'm with you. We went out to the lease on Sunday and received permission to hunt an additional 150 acres of prime buck property. We picked up several hundred yards of a 50 yard wide hard woods following a creek bottom between two hills barring beans on one side and switch grass bedding areas on the other side. I hope to have some trail cam pics to show in the near future. We hung two stands near two pinch points and have 9 other stands up in other locations to the south of the new area.

Last year a monster 12 point was killed strait across from where we hunt and my buddy arrowed a 250 lb 10 point which we tracked for over a mile, but failed to recover.

September 14th can't come soon enough.

 

Nah, Sam may get out earlier, but I bet he'd give a left one to hunt some mid-west monsters.

 

Im ready for the season but it needs to cool down they are calling for heat index to hit 100-105 this week. That **** cant be happening! It needs to cool down a lot in this next month, once we get into the 50s I will be read to go and drop a big buck.

 

Hey Oly, I used to hunt a small farm out near Thomson until three years ago when the owner died. Good farm hunting out that way. I never bagged a nice buck out there, but I killed enough fawns and does to bump up the genetics. We started seeing some nice racks, the last couple of years. I swear we had (see if I can dig it up) 6 point fawn the size of my Keeshond on the cam.

Thanks. I will be hunting a lot down near champaign while im at school but I will be heading north to hunt when I can to hopefully put down one of the bucks ive been getting on camera.
