I'll take a guess, once you drop 5 or so, the rest run, LOL I wonder how folks protected their homes with a musket back in the day. Here is the issue with the debate. I have read here and by others limiting to a 10 round mag will not have lives, because a train user can change mag quickly with training and still kill as many people. I guess some of us here do not have that training, LOL I think we just stick with it's nobodies business what I own in mag size. Why do we need to justify what we own?
A mass killer will be prepared, while a home invasion would catch the victim by surprise. You can buy a vest that will hold your magazines and be able to swap them out pretty quickly, but if you are home, more then likely your gun and magazines will be either locked up in a gun safe or possibly not even stored together. Germ you tend to twist reasoning sometimes. I'm not going to sleep w. my gun and have the mags on my person, but a mass killer will have time and preparation on their side. The victim of a home invasion will not be afforded the same. Surely you understand that, Right?
When they had muskets, other people had muskets thats how they dealt with it. Its the governments business in what we own because I sure as hell don't want people stacking up grenades and rocket launchers in the house next door. There is a limit, as for whether it should be drawn at 10 rd or 30 rd, thats up for debate.
Not twisting anything, just playing devils advocate. In a debate that's exactly what the other side will do. In one breath we say, we need a bigger mag in case we need to fire more shots, and then we say crooks can fire just as many shots with a mag with less bullets. Lets get the right argument, which is IMO, it's nobodies business.
I wish this was the case, but with liberties and freedom being so eroded these days, who knows. The news is reporting that Washington state is pushing to give their Sheriff Dept's the ability to check peoples houses to ensure their guns are being locked up the proper way. While the feasability for this to be passed and to have the manpower to actually enforce it is slim, it should be an eye opener to anyone that this law is even being considered. Don't even get mne started on Obama's Civilian National Security Force, people need to open their eyes.
Thats' fine, and I'm not really and advocate of calling an AR a home protection weapon. It's honestly not the best choice, but neither is a double barreled shotgun. The best option would be a combination of a high capacity handgun and a short barreled semi-auto shotgun. Assault Weapon bans and high capacity mag bans are nothing more than a power grab by the left wing. It's a foothold, a starting place to start to disarm America. If we allow this to happen, then the next time a crime is committed, lets say with a handgun, then there will be a precedence set and the left will feel they have justification to come after our hand guns. This isn't about stopping mass killings or even about reducing gun violence. America doesn't understand that, and the is the root of our problem.
