This dude is got to be the stupidest person they could get for this job. 1. You shoot twice you're out of shells. 2. My house isn't protected by Secret Service. 3. I want to be able to shoot an attacker as many times as it takes to ensure my safety. 4. Get a better interviewer one with a pair of balls anyway.
Is an idiot. Isn't fireing warning shots illegal? I actually do agree with the shotgun, but not a double barrel. In the heat of the moment I'd rather send five shots of buck shot at an intruder than trying to fire any other weapon, but thats just personal preference.

I agree a shotgun is a better home defense weapon loaded with buck shot but it's not his choice to make on what weapon I use. The SS protects his family with AR's why can't I protect mine with one. I have the proper training to handle an AR let me have one. There is an agenda here that isn't about protecting people from a couple of nut jobs, after seeing the arguments that the Dems are putting out there I believe they are taking the first major steps in disarming America. Colorado 15 years ago was a gun toting low crime rate state and now look at it, two of the worst mass shootings in the country. Hold on people it's going to be a bumpy ride.

I've always kept the Browning loaded with high brass 6s. At the distances you'd be engaging in a home defense situation.... 6's are great. and they won't go blasting the length of the house.
That's a great idea Joe, Go ahead and inform them that you have a valuable weapon, and put them on the defensive. Sure they may tuck tail and run, but what if they don't. Now you have a gun(unloaded) and the criminals know you have have it. Now you no longer have the element of surprise. Just a brilliant plan. Absolutely brilliant. Don't forget to remind them to call 911 first, that way the police can start the murder investigation sooner. Perhaps they should carry a whistle and blow that when there's an intruder in their home. Here's what I can't figure out. They are putting all this effort into disarming law abiding citizens, yet putting no effort into stopping, catching, prosecuting and jailing violent criminals.

Who needs shotguns? Just declare your home a 'safe zone', get whistle and a 'call box'. Worst case scenario, you can void on yourself, throw up and brandish a pen.
And the most logical republicans who would have a legitimate chance at becoming president can't even make it out of the GOP primary because republican voters won't compromise on their values. You know, like gay marriage.
