For those curious.......I'll have some speed specs available shortly. I bought a chrono the other day as it's the only thing I didn't have in my home shop, but it won't work with the lighting in my basement. I've now got the infrared lighting kit on the way to make it work anywhere. Once that's setup I'll post some speed specs. For reference, I'm shooting it at 60lbs, 30 3/8", and a 326gr X-Ringer HV 350. I'm guessing it's going right around 295-300fps in the current config.
Nice Fanatic 2.0. It looks great! Honestly as strictly a bowhunter (sold my target bow last year) I am more interested in reading about how you like the BT-X when you get it. So keep us posted .
So Matt, are they still bolting on the shoot thru "cages"? I have a Halon X that was supposed to be here tomorrow but according to UPS tracking, it's been stuck in Illinois for 24 hours. Not sure what the deal is there, very unlike UPS, especially from Mathews. I get plenty from UPS and there's never an issue. So we will see when it actually makes it! lol
Believe it or not, he actually is. He's a super nice guy though. A few years back he finally asked about getting "a lot of boxes" from Mathews and other places. I told him what I did and he was interested. He actually delivers to another National Factory Staff guy I know that lives close to me. We always talk for a few minutes now when he drops stuff off which during this time of year can be a few times a week. He's always asking me about the new bows, what I think about them, etc. Super nice guy and I enjoy talking to him. When I killed my buck this year, I was pulling into the neighborhood with it and he saw it on my hitch haul after he finished running his route and came to my house. We stood there talking hunting for almost an hour after congratulated me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yes - They are still using the bolt on shoot through cage system on the Fanatic 2.0's. With that said, it's not just cosmetic.......it absolutely adds stiffness to the riser. Good luck with your Halon X! Shot my second Vegas game tonight in the basement. Again........it's only shot at 15 yards but it feels good to be shooting again. It's been too long. Was a bit more disciplined with letting down and it shows with a clean round, but definitely can pick up some X's with some better shot process timing.
For those curious, I got 297fps on a chrono today. 59lbs, 329gr, 30 3/8", the smooth setting, and a loaded up string including a heavy super peep, loop, etc. The bow is actually on the 30.5" setting but is drawing a bit short, so it's actually a bit faster than spec I think.
