I'd not waste a breath with someone who says he isn't an all time great....the tricky part is if one wants to attempt to label him as the greatest of all time.....to me far too many options and far too many players who excelled in certain ways that cannot be compared. He is one of the GOATs though, love him or hate him I don't think it can be denied....and he didn't need to win last night for that to be true.
Lebron is great. Having said that let the record show that Irving hit the shot that won it while Lebron could not score in isolation at the end. Irving has ice in his veins as he was a close 2nd in terms of importance. Glad the cavs won. Enjoy it Cleveland.
For sure. Honestly, Lebron needs to transfer to play more low, he simply is a beast down there...isolation from outside attacking is slowly not becoming his strength. I don't see Love being as useful to them as Lebron moves low more...time will tell.
I'm still in shock. It feels as though a curse was lifted. The Cavs dominated the Splash brothers with the switching on pick and rolls. They let Green have his shots and they lived with it. Tristan Thompson said it best, "be great at your role." Every Cavs player was great at their role. From Love who defended Curry in the final minute to prevent a 3 pointer and got 14 rebounds, to Tristan Thompson who did the dirty work and got some hard fought rebound points. LeBron who led the Finals in ALL 5 major statistical categories and had some clutch free throws and a clutch block, to Irving who drained a 3 pointer with the regular season MVP in his face. Jefferson coming off the bench and playing his butt off fighting for every lose ball, rebound, and looking for the play makers. It's an amazing day for Cleveland and LeBron was able to fulfill his promise of returning and bringing a championship to The Land. Now the questions about next year begin, does Love stay or go? Who do they bring in to replace Richard Jefferson and presumably James Jones? Does JR Smith come back or do the Cavs let him go in FA? With the league going more small ball, do they let Mozgov go? Do they go after a big name player like Durant or do they get a bunch of grit defenders? Things should get interesting.
I didn't like the way Lebron went about his decision to go to Miami, not that he went, but how he went about it. All that said, it was the best thing to ever happen for him and Cleveland. Had he not went, I doubt Cleveland ever won a title. It allowed him to gain championship composure, playing with Wade and Bosh elevated his game as he doesn't have to win every game for them. Add in the building of Cleveland in his absence only strengthened his return. Couldn't have scripted it any better, eh, except for the dramatic "decision". But donating all the hype revenue to charity gets him a slide on that. He's on of the greats, and the greatest of his generation, but it would be unfair to label him the GOAT. IMO it's a lot like Peyton Manning and that debate.
Don't fall into the trap of looking to next year already. Enjoy it. Cause odds are next year you won't win it again.
I am fascinated by Lebron. The guy is so good. 31 years old... I want to know where he is going to rank when all is said and done.
I can see the argument either way about Lebron is the greatest player ever or not. It is hard not too put Jordan there because of the 6-0 record. If Jordan is one Lebron has to be top 5 for sure and i would put him 2 just in front of Magic.
All is well in Cleveland. Storybook ending. The boat was almost sunk and they steered it into the bay. Im happy for LeBron. He promised Cleveland a championship and he delivered.
The next big question is does Lebron leave Cleveland again after taking care of his promise to bring a title?
