All the civilians I work with are MIA until further notice. Kinda stinks cause theres more work to be done. Not too much more though
This should be the whole letter. http://www.doi.gov/news/doinews/upload/Message-from-the-President-to-U-S-Government-Employees.pdf He's putting 100% of the blame on the House. But, the Senate had every chance in the world to compromise and pass the budget. Which Obama would have vetoed anyway. But, the Senate is doing his dirty work so he doesn't have to look like the bad guy.
Maybe, but they did pass a bill to prevent this. Now they're just going to fund it one item at a time Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
This makes me feel real secure with my future in public service. How on earth unemployment checks are still being cut while people willing to work are sent home because a lack of funds is so baffling to me it nearly makes my head explode.
I have a couple of friends who have civilian jobs for DOD after they became too disabled, in combat, to continue in the military who were furloughed today. I'm sure the Obamaphones still have service though. Screw this.
I'm in the same boat, some of the folks that were considered "essential" in my code made me lol. My wife is in IT for the DOD so we got hit with the double whammy today. Was hoping 1 of us would get to stay but no such luck,so every day we're off we are bleeding some much needed $$. Se la vi. Good luck Muzzy.
Got the call... back to work tomorrow. I had to cancel a fishing trip... weird timing but am glad we are going back. I don't know when we will get paid but it'll all work out eventually I guess.
yup, and even the ones still on furlough are going to get back pay. So they get the best of both worlds - sit at home and wait for it all to pan out, then collect a big check. I know for some families it will be rough for awhile, but everyone will be paid eventually. Enjoy your delayed-paycations, folks!
