Dems said yesterday and Friday they would support funding for the meaningless wall if it meant a deal could get done for DACA and CHIP. was turned down by republicans. That's on them not the dems.

I thought Mexico was funding the wall? Why is the wall even in this deal? Trump said "Mexico will pay for the wall" Trump voters why are you not calling him out on this lie? Oh wait I know.

No Chuck Schemer said he offered it, I do not think Schemer has any integrity so I tend not to believe it. I do not think any illegals should be allowed to stay. If a parent broke into your house and brought their kids to live there do you think the kids should be allowed to stay? If my parents robbed a bank would I be allowed to keep the money?

Interesting perspective, but why is the wall in this deal?

Mexico has no money to pay for the wall, the idea to pay for the wall was charging a tax on the $ that get sent from the US to mexico by illegals that do not pay income tax.

not exactly true- government/military get paid eventually; but not until it's over. I know from personal experience. How long could you go without a paycheck?

Trump's 2011 quote shows only his naivete that Dems and Repubs can work together. When Dems choose to represent millions of illegals over you, me, and every other citizen; then how is Trump responsible?

Hate Trump all you want for any number of reasons; but anyone supporting a shut down over this issue is beneath contempt.

not a chance in hell. It might flip but look at the map- no way it goes 60 to Dems.

    1000000%
Where Republican "leadership" failed is on an actual budget- since they knew Dems were going to filibuster why not pass a real budget and hang that on Dems??? Get Lee and Paul on board...the only thing I can think is that they vote again and then McConnell has an excuse to change to simple majority rule.

Just watched George Stephanopoulos say himself that he did not believe Schumer really made that offer to Trump.

more importantly; why is DACA? The wall must be paid for, ie it's of budgetary concern.
Mexico will pay for the wall...via fees on wire transfers, re-negotiation of NAFTA, etc.

just because an "offer" was made doesn't mean it was one any Republican could have stomached... what was the offer? DACA for the wall? What about their parents? Chain migration? When would these DACA recipients get their papers? Before or after the wall was built? The devil is in the details. And in Schumer's heart.

The wall is an investment that will pay returns in the future for future social services not needing to be rendered imo. We can cease foreign aid to Mexico, as well, in order to defray expenses for it.

That said...term limits NOW. All parties, every swinging phallus, every bra'd teat. Congress shouldn't be a career. I hate them all and believe less than half what they say.

Again that's not what Trump said, good to know his voters will not hold him accountable for what he says, keep making excuses.

I am 100% with you on term limits

The wall will be part of the budget- how else would it be funded? Trump and many of his advisers have publicly stated that means considered to pay for it are taxing all wire remittances to Mexico (over $24 billion/year) and re-negotiating NAFTA to reduce the $63 billion trade deficit we currently have per year. That's right, Mexico sells us $63 billion more in goods than we sell to them every year.

Taking just those two proposals- in other words Mexico will receive tens of billions less money from the US; thereby paying for the wall. Not to mention the hundreds of thousand of illegals that are being repatriated back to MX, freeing up more of our capital to spend on our own citizens.

The problem a lot of people have with DJT is they take him waaaaaay too literally. Will Mexico write us a $20 billion check? Of course not. That was never even going to be proposed much less happen. But under the MAGA agenda our long term budgetary savings at Mexico's expense would save us hundreds of billions of dollars in the next decade, paying for the wall several times over.

    Current America.

Here is our line in the sand in regards to anything meaningful. No just kidding. Here it is again. We don't even discipline children using the weakness method of backing down to every little thing the kid wants, then why do we when it comes to important stuff like proper immigration routes? I wonder what Americans would think if we were surrounded by countries in the middle east and a million illegal immigrants flooded our country from countries like Iran, Iraq, and Pakistan? Would be allow DACA for that crap?
