I don't/won't hunt when Pa's season first starts. Too hot! I HATE sweating for any reason when I'm hunting. I wait a few weeks. God knows they give us enough time! lol Especially here in the SE.

I had to walk through the woods today for a few hours just to get my fix I haven't been able to do anything for a few months for the lack of a truck so now that the woods are accross the creek infront of my house I will be up there a lot. Season is comein sooner for us this year used to be october 15 or 16 this year october 1

No sitting around for me! Finishing fall food plots up, hanging stands, running trail cams and prepping for Colorado ...and trying to keep a gf :D

Right there with you man. I live in Rowan county and this wait is killing me. I have a couple small food plots to get ready and one stand to move. All this will be done by mid August. In the mean time its just practice and challenge my self with different kinds of shots to get myself ready for the woods. short sessions because of this heat though.

October 1st for me, and it seems like a long ways away. I did sneak out for a velvet scouting trip tonight with the video camera. A couple does and a VERY nice 10 pointer showed up for some shaky, low light video.

My new bow should be in next week, so that will keep me busy for awhile too I guess. It's about time to start getting my camera's to the woods and getting stands into place too. Every year, I always ask myself why I wait to hang stands until July/August....

August for us in Colorado too, its been 40 degrees at night and cool mornings, does not help with the anxiousness.
Have been seeing a 28+ inch 3+3 mulie with eye gaurds everymorning, and a super nice 4+4. trying to get a good pic.

60 days and counting down. I have a feeling this is going to be a good season. I have one good buck I have located and am going to try to get him within the first three weeks of season. My wife is excited to get a deer this year also. She has been starting to talk about it and tonight she said she doesn't care if it is a doe or big buck. She knows the plan and not to harvest any little guys. I can't wait!!!

After moving a stand 2 weeks ago i was viciously attacked by poison ivy......probably giving it another couple weeks before i go back in to do more stand work and get another case of it. But Oct. 1.....like Bart Scott would say....."CANT WAIT!"

Sept 15th here, I'm going speed goat hunting opening week of deer season but will probably be in the stand within a couple days of getting back from out west. The itch has defintely set in. No pun intended Pat.
