So Tricky Nick wants to slow down college offenses Saban is an ***. Leave college football be, if offenses want to go fast let them, it's your job as a coach to stop them.
I don't get why people are making this into a big deal. Of course a power team wishes the game was slower. Teams like Oregon wish Bama didn't have 3 AA 300 lb lineman w a running back that threw up 225 on the bench over 40 reps.... Saban doesn't have the power to change football, he just wishes it favored his teams style of play more (duh)...
True, but Oregon is not trying to change any rules, Saban IS. Do you know how many recruiting rules have been changed because Nick Saban out works everyone else? What's the difference here?
Come on, Germ, he is just thinking about the safety of the kids here, there is not other motive at force here. Think of the kids!
Bill Self is lobbying to shorten the shot clock in college basketball. Who would that benefit? Teams like KU that can get 5 star athletes. Same thing, trying to make the strong teams stronger.
Oh...you mean like when the Big 10 coaches complained about the SEC over signing players and made the 25 player limit rule?
Or when legendary Coach Woodson won 10 out of 11 titles in basketball allowing Sam Gilbert to buy his teams for him (Players like Walton and Kareem both admitting to taking pay CUTS when they left for the NBA)... Coaches since the beginning of time have ALWAYS looked for a leg up on their competition. This is no different.
If I find myself watching a State game, I naturally root for them to win. But I'm not a big basketball fan. So what's the Saban Rule?
An offensive team has to allow 10 seconds to run off the play clock before snapping the ball. It is an attempt to slow down HUNH offenses.
Oops, I forgot that Saban works for Alabama and they play football. So then, what is an HUNH offense?
The only rules that need to be changed back to the original rules are making contact with receivers after 5 yds, hitting the weenie QB, and striking "defenseless" receivers, amongst other ones.
Why are the Southern dudes turning this into an SEC/BIG thing? This would probably effect more SEC teams than the BIG. Sabin claims it is about player safety even though there is no data to support his claims. I'm sure this has nothing to do with the butt whoopin they took from the Sooners
Big 10 people are the ones complaining... I don't care either way. LSU never struggles against those types of offenses. They actually dominate them.
