I just wish Unions didnt protect all these num nuts picketing from being fired. Don't show up at work? No worries. Someone else will for you tomorrow.

We had to cancel school in 6th grade, because all of the teachers went to the state capital (unannounced to the administrators until the school day had started) to picket for their retirement to go from 27 to 25 years. If someone pulled that crap in the private sector, say a private school who pays equally as well and has the same benefits package...they would be fired. No ifs, ands, or buts about it.

Spin away union guys, it's really quite humorous at this point.

Agreed they did same thing at a school in my area, only they cost their school a state championship that woulda been three years in row I think and the school ended up getting closed two years later. I'm sure my boss would enjoy if I jus didn't show up tomorrow so I could go protest. They come picket our job sites all the time anyway cause they bid too high and didn't get it and apparently we don't do as good a job as union. Sad thing is 4 outta 5 guys I see on their job sights only work hard enough to hold up a shovel all day. Must be a hard skill ha.

How about a few years back when all the bus drivers in NY week on strike right before Christmas and you had all these mobs of people walking across the bridges in the snow?
Demonize bussiness all you want but you only care about yourselves.

They have a job that requires them to be at work . That is what they get payed for.:what:

You realize this incident was less than 10 years ago.;)

Not all of the things unions do are bad but it seems the entitlement mentality has taken over.

The fact of the matter is this law passes in every state BY THE PEOPLE . Apparently the majority of Americans do not want to be FORCED to join a union.

    Wonder why that is?;)

Well if 10 years is too long how bout 3 months. There's a veterans home and hospital in the area that all the nurses and administration walked out on to protest because the state was wanting to change their pention or pay or something. I guess I'm may be only assuming they were supposed to be working that day as well. Maybe thats jus where they met up I guess. Or maybe that's the thing to do is walk on people your supposed to be caring for because you don't agree with some changes.

    Joe,

You are good people and you take pride In your job and the union you belong too. I commend you for that. What erks people (myself Included) Is the out lash of the union member In that video and MANY others also that strike and do this BS. You know my past, my family was threatened amongst many other families with the strike at that milk plant. There's way to much power In unions for these people to think they can do these threatening things. No not all union workers are bad ***'s and they shouldn't all be betrayed like the guy In the video but at the same time many people have seen this crap with strikes. Strikes are never friendly which Is completely understandable but the violent part with the threatening and tough guy crap Is a bunch of ****ing BS. Stereotypes will get made quickly then. My brother Is a 49er (17 years and going). He gets embarrassed from the outrage that goes on with some of these strikes. It pisses me off that members from these same unions don't beat the hell out of these tough guy union members that pull this BS or at least speak out and say were not all like this. You never see that though. I believe It's a pride thing unfortunately.

I guess it was wrong of me to assume teachers should be at school when the kids show up for class. What a dumbass I have become lol. 6th grade was 10 years ago, for future reference how far back am I allowed to remember things.

I'm not saying the idea of a union isn't good having someone working to better your pay and benefits... But not with absolute power. Not to the point that you can't be fired for poor performance because the union will back you as a member. You'd think the Union itself would trim the fat so to speak and purge themselves of these members far before it got to the point that people are no longer forced to join unions to get a job.

Oh, we are all laughing...but I am afraid you might be surprised to find out that we are laughing at the absurdity of this post.

Really? who says they were supposed to be at work! Now THAT is funny. I would guess that little contract they signed that was full of requirements that their unions stuck in there, also had a line or two about actually showing up for work to get paid. You tried desperately to make others look like fools and did just the opposite. Kind of hard on the old union stereotype there, dont yo think? Your credibility rating may have just sunk slightly lower than the union apporval rating in Michigan.

Wow, a lot of good substance in that reply.

Now, seriously, how do you respond to saying, "..who says they were supposed to be at work?" Please, I would love to hear your analogy of this little gem.

You really need to re-read Steve's post. He really wasn't painting your union brothers in a very good light. He was explaining to you why unions are looked down on by many. It's not just the actions of a few bullies, it's the non-action of their union brothers that also reflects poorly and seems to substantiate a lot of the stereotyping.
