But even with manufacturing, your selling a product that needs a demand. When those in demand can no longer afford the product, then we have an issue.

This is why the market should dictate the price.

I agree with this, but do you think it works both ways? If GM pays folks 15.00 an hour and demand goes up for their cars, do you think they will raise the pay for everyone?

When a company shifts jobs overseas does the product get cheaper?

If your not making what you think your worth than quit and get a job that pays you better. If you still think your worth more than people are willing to pay you start your own business. Now you know what your really worth.

Businesses are only going to pay you what your worth to them but that doesn't mean that's all your worth. Try it, you may be surprised what your capible of earning.

To me it seems like unions can tie a person down to the same boring job for 32.5 years because of so called benifits. Which sounds a very boring life and seems to make these very angry workers in the long run.

No, because the market fluctuates. Just because there is a demand this year does not mean there will be next. So there has to be a cushion. This is also why taxing small business and the rich can backfire.

Some products do get cheaper when shipped overseas and some do not and in many cases, the cost stays the same. More often than not, the cost stabilizes and doesn't increase exponentially.

Lol good luck finding a pharmacist for $20k (there comes that whole qualified issue).

If you are talking about pharmacy techs, then yeah most of them make in the $20k range... What's your point? That they are making half of an assembly line worker as a skilled healthcare worker?

1.If it was not for businesses treating employes poorly there would have been no reasons for Unions in the first place.
2.Anyone that thinks Unions are unnecessary has never read their State labor laws, mostly passed by Republicans.
3.Anyone that has read their State labor laws and still thinks Unions are unnecessary are a stright up dumb *** or like the idea of being treated like one.
4.Any Blue Collar Worker taking advice from a business owner on unions or rights in a work place is a Dumb ***.
5.Want a ditch dug but dont want to pay anyone a fair price for anyone to do it, dig it yourself!

Responsibility? Your kidding me right, I'm not the one that expects to sit around on my *** while someone else makes a good living for me and then not reward them for it.

Big Boy Pants? You better go get yours on.

You make it hard not to come across as condescending while talking to you, so ill just bow out at this point.

Basically, anyone who is educated, a business owner, an independent thinker, not a manual laborer, or not part of a union is a complete dumbass. Did I cover the bases or did I leave another group out?

There absolutely was a time in our countries history when unions were necessary. However, things have changed since Carnagie and Rockefeller.

There are state and federal laws in place, considering they are posted, most of us have read them.

And a few years before that the President (married man) was getting a hummer in the Whitehouse from an intern. Classy. You really dont want to start throwing mud when there are many, many, corrupt, immoral, crooks in the Liberal party and Unions as well for that matter. You are throwing stones from a glass house. Neither side of the isle is free of guilt.

Stop it. Your making me misty.

Again, if you think the company is not paying you what your worth, quit and go earn the money you feel your worth, it's that simple. I did it, so can you.

Are American companies are tired of being of being made the bad guy and so they're finding workers who want to do the work. ie china, India, mexico etc etc. Now you can blame them some more for that but I never hear anyone complaining about hiring mexicans to pick our fruits and vegetables? Why? because that work is beneath them.
Seems like more and more work is beneath these unions and the union bosses have to keep justifying THERE big salaries by selling their members on more and more BS to strike about. Open your eyes to the rest of the world and see what your union mindset has done to those countries.

Bottom line. Don't bite the hand the feeds you if you don't have a back up offer. IMO

More lip flap from the Limbaugh crowd. One look at your post and there's no doubt in my mind guys like Limbaugh and Beck are worth every penny paid to dumb this country up. Quick to throw personal insults yet lacking on bringing any meat or potatoes to the table tells me politically you could not find your *** in the dark with both hands.
Assuming I am a "Union Man" would be "Ignorant" on your part and tagging me as a blue dog democrat makes you twice as ignorant.
I vote for what I think is best for this Country not what Limbaugh tells me to.

Seriously doubt what Limbaugh(or Beck) says influences how any of these guys on here vote - and perhaps if you don't like the right to work why don't you head back to where ever you came back from and work with the unions there?

Have you ever actually listened to a Rush or Beck show? Not clips from another media source.

What are you 12? Or just have a comprehension problem, I don't belong to a union, just smart enough to understand the importance of them, which I would try to explain if it was not for defending myself form all the squat to piss cry babies still upset over the last election. And if you dont think people like Limbaugh, Beck and conservative programing influences votes they should rename the UP "La La Land".

Been a resident of Michigan for almost 58 years, would ya like me to tell you where you can go?

You do realize that most start listening to those shows because they align with their own feelings.

I have listened to rush and beck. As well as Bill Mauer and msnbc.

I am more in line with Rush. Most liberals don't even realize his show has alot of satire.

SliverFlicker, it the shoe fit wear it, if not don't act like you don't know what we're talking about.

We don't like corporations taking advantage or unions and we've seen a lot of this " we'll screw them and get even mentality" coming from unions. It more about the big money people dividing us as a nation. Lets be smarter than them.

Nobody wants to see corporations abusing its workers but we also do t want to see its workers abusing the corp.
Personally I don't believe a company should be doing anymore than giving their people a good pay check based on the service or product they are providing. Just like some politician try to convince you that tell will that care of you so you don't have to worry about taking care of yourself, so do company's.
Trust in yourself only. Company's and politician are just looking out for themselves and we all should be doing the same for ourselves. IMO
