That's right you heard it here first. In the entire history of MLB a team that starts 0-4 has NEVER won the World Series. Only one team has ever even made it there. Sounds like a ridiculous notion considering the talent and expectations on that team, but hey....... who am I to argue with history.
On the other hand.....my new hometown team the Texas Rangers sure have been fun to watch. That team has been beating the baseball around the whole park the first 5 games. I'm exhausted and my eyes are bloodshot from a night at the ball park last night.
My Royals are 4 -1 baby! Arguably, with the best minor league prospects just ready to break into the majors, it's an exciting time in the KC area.
Yep, doesn't look good. Don't forget your beloved Yankees started their 1998 season 1-4, but went on to set a MLB best for regular season wins (no longer the record, but still), and a title.
My Brewers started 0-4 also. Does this mean they are not World Series contenders? But hey they won last night so it's a step in the right direction!
Been a Rangers fan since I was a kid. All the crappy years are finally paying off. The Temple is a fun place to watch a ball game. Plus it got a nice facelift this year
Up until 2004 no team had ever come back from a 3-0 deficit in the ALCS either. Who was that they beat again? While I agree they won't win the W.S. they will be much better than thier 0-4 start indicates. And with Dice-K starting today its likely to be an 0-5 start.
While he's inconsistent, the rest of the staff is really turning any heads right now either. I'm pretty disappointed in the lack of offense. Crawford is a bust so far, while Ortiz, the man everyone wants to throw under the bus, is hitting well. Gonzalez is at least making hard contact.
I really believe the offense is going to turn it around, and sooner rather than later. I think its a fluke and they will be pretty potent throughout most of the year
I agree. Not going to hold that team down. I still say the defy history and go to the World Series. That was an interesting stat though. Meaningless IMO ... but interesting. Between their signings and the players they got back from injury last year it's like aquiring an all start team. Just don't see how they don't come out of the AL.
I give you credit, you are a fan of the KC teams...I guess if you ain't got hope, you ain't got nothing... I did see you say Derrick Thomas was the best LB in history the other day, or better than LT or something like that. I am very close to thinking that is correct as well, but he was a bama boy so I am a little biased.
In 2004 the BoSox did something no team in the entire history of MLB had ever done....as a Yankee fan i'm sure you remember what i'm talking about
Boy you Red Sox fans really know how to cling to things in the past. It's 7 years ago dude.... let it go. Of course not being in the playoffs or winning that many World Series, I guess I can see how you'd want to cling to anything you can. The teams and fans that are used to such things just look ahead to the present and future. Anticipating another ring rather than looking back on a playoff game they won a decade ago.
I can certainly understand why you'd want to forget the greatest comeback in MLB playoff history. But, don't expect Bosox fans to. Speaking of living in the present......how many of those 26 championships you Yankee fans want to tout......were you alive for? Let's stay in the present. I agree.
I simply brought up a feat that had never before been done in the history of baseball since you concluded that the BoSox cannot win the WS this year because no team has ever done so after starting 0-4. Nothing worth getting unraveled about "dude". BTW...if stuff that happened just 7 years ago doesn't matter it's funny that you contantly bring up the total number of WS the Yanks have won?
