I plan on putting it up around noon. I'll have to give it at least a week so maybe I'll hunt it the week after.

Put my trail cam up this pass Saturday. Went out this afternoon to check my cam and hang a stand about 25 yards away. Got home and upload the pics to the computer and this guy came pass last night. Can't wait to start sitting this stand late next week.

Holy smokes man! That dude is a booner for sure.

I took tonights driving rain as an opporunity to move a stand over a rub line I found in last night's driving rain. The rain should be clearing up tomorrow so I can get back out there.

It's good to be back healthy enough.

It's going to start heating up around here and I am ready to put serious time into the stand. I got the 26th thru the 2nd off of work to hunt. Hopefully I'll be able to put it together then. Heading out Friday morning and night, then got all weekend to hunt.

Now is the time guys, get out in the woods and make it happen! Good luck everyone :)

Hey guys, any luck this weekend? I only was able to go out Friday evening and Saturday morning. Friday evening was very quiet. Saturday morning was very quiet as well. I did have a little doe come in but she was only about a year old.

Next weekend things should start getting more serious. I'm heading down to a cabin on the Ohio river for some turkey and deer hunting. The following weekend I'm heading to a reservoir in Northern Indiana to check out a little woods of about 2-3 acres but just oozing with deer and an area that hasn't been hunted.

My property here has some pretty good signs of life. I was going into my stand Saturday morning and noticed a buck had tore up a tree right behind my stand that night. Also, I moved a stand over top of a rub line a little deeper into the woods.
Saturday could have been a lot more successful except the frost made it a little noisy and I think I bumped a doe. When I got into my stand I could see a doe trotting though the field behind our property.

Went out pheasant Saturday in the mourning and found a spot I'm going to hang a stand on some day this week. Went to the land with that big buck Saturday night and the Boy Scouts were camp not to far from the stand I was going to sit. So turned around and headed back home. Going out Wednesday and Thursday night. Will be sit a lot in the next three plus weeks, got some day off in November.

Went out Saturday and Sunday. Didn't see anything either day. I had a buddy set up about a half mile North of me on Sunday and he saw an eight-pointer on public land. It was our first time hunting that spot and I had only done some internet scouting on mapper before we went. Now we have a better idea of where their travel corridor might be. Supposed to be a lot of big deer back there.

I think we would have had more luck, but there were a ton of small game hunters out this weekend. I didn't have one sit where I didn't see someone with a rifle or shotgun walk within 20 yards of my stand wearing blaze. Makes me a little nervous, .22s can do some damage if they hit you in the right spot, but I don't have any private land so I'm out of luck.

I was kind of pissed at one place. We were loading up to start walking in and a van of three guys in camo pulls up and starts pulling rifles. They asked if we were done and I said no, we were just heading out. They said, well that sucks and head into the woods. I just got back in the car and drove off.

This stupid guys are shooting at everything too. Anything that moves they shoot. My buddy actually saw one of them plucking a bluebird the other day in the parking lot. Really gets my blood boiling.

Hoping to get out more this week. I have a couple spots where we're starting to nail down the patterns and I have a couple weekends in a row where I'll be out of state. I'll keep you guys posted. Good luck to you all.

Man Ryan, there's a lot more stuff you have to go through when you have to hunt public land, but the reward will be immense. Next year I'm going to leave some private and try my hand at some public, it's a whole new realm of hunting really.

I went out all weekend and saw a fair amount. I passed smaller eight pointers on saturday morning and saturday evening. Both different spots, both at 15 yards broadside. I saw some decent sign going in and out of some stands. I just got to get the right deer to come through. I know they are out there, I just got to get on them. My vacation starts the 26th and goes till the 2nd. Definately looking foward to that!

Good luck guys! It's going to get good real soon!

Oh yeah, high point of the weekend was my best friend shooting his first deer ever, bow or gun. It was a doe on Sunday afternoon. It was awesome for both of us. I helped him with the drag out once I was done hunting. Also gave him a field dressing lesson and took some nice pics. Great way to cap the weekend.

Things are starting to heat up here pretty good. My little woods is full of rubs that appears to be 2 different bucks, one to the east, one to the west. There is a ton of rubs. However, I only have 1 shooter on cam and I haven't seen him in almost a month. I have one cam out but tonight I'm going to do a little cam movement. I used to have 3 cams but one I let a friend borrow and it got stolen, and my old moultrie is dying slowly, but then again it's been in the woods for 3 years without coming inside.

Well heading out today after work. Been seeing deer almost daily on my drive to work, saw my first nice buck this mourning. An 8 or 10 pointer. Now they just need to start moving during the day.

    Any luck Dan?

I'm jealous of you northeast guys, I'd love to be getting snow this weekend. Especially since I'll be at the cabin all weekend.

A little snow, but it will be gone by morning. Our rifle season opens up on saturday, so I will try and use them to my advantage, I will get in the stand real early and hope they can push the deer around. Our team is off to a slow start, but I have a feeling we are going to start making some noise.
