I was a supervisor in an R&D job shop, but I'm not an engineer or a machinist... go figure. Our machinists were sometimes given drawings and programs from degreed engineers and sometimes just given 'ideas' on napkins from Ph.D scientists. Our machinists were allowed to initially enter or modify input codes for prototypes whenever necessary. Sometimes they needed to throw out programs submitted by engineers and enter codes into the machine from scratch. It's tuff to drill .375" dia. holes in .250" wide stock. I've seen machinists scrape chips into an envelope and hand it to an engineer, saying... 'here's what you requested'.

Drilling a 3/8" hole in a 1/4" piece of stock only gives you lengths of material between where you drill.

Never been a big fan of snowmobiles or should say snowmobilers. My land used to border a snowmobile trail and every donk with a sled came up from the cities. My issue is that the state gives access for trails on right of ways in ditches, the snowmobilers feel they have to god given right to ride where ever they want. I always told my wife and kids do not stop for a snowmobile at the end of the driveway. Over the years there were some conflicts but they must yield so it was their problem.

Well today the wife was headed to visit her friend the trail crosses the road and a snowmobiler failed to stop at a trail crossing and t boned my wife's vehicle. Nobody got hurt the snowmobile is totaled and not sure about the wife's rig, it was time for a new one.

I have 5 different driveways leading to the parking lot in the back of my bar and one huge lot in front. Last Thursday I was talking to some friends at the bar when, not one, two, or three but four snowmobiliers snuck between some trees and a parked car. They proceeded through the yard across my horseshoe pits and my septic system. Then they Weasled between my truck and another patrons truck to get to the back parking lot.

We had words. Those guys won't be doing that again. Idiots!

It did not deter my wife from continuing her journey to shop. If car dealers were open on Sundays she would be at a Lincoln dealership, fairly certain.

Hope you don't need garage doors, side windows around a door, or many other materials.

I work for a big General Contractor in the cities. Materials are getting better but there’s some planning you have to do with long lead items. Get your orders in on those items. The biggest issue we have is subs with man power in lingo because of Covid

I never leave a VM. Usually text first, "free for a call?" then if affirmative the call goes out. Sometimes I call first, then if no answer just follow up text 'gimme a ring when you can'

Yep, I need a week or so off for inclement weather that that much snow would cause in the south.
