That is my off season snows too deep to cut trees or even get logs frozen to ground...work out. It's my cardio and weight lifting...BTW that snow was dang heavy! I had to resort to the ole cut layers and shovel top down. Since I came in it has been snowing hard. I don't even want to see how much it has filled in..eeewwww windy too.

All is quiet, line is in place just have to plumb both ends. Went a hell of a lot faster than it was made to sound like.

Just looked at the meter reading. If I'm reading it right I used another 12 units of water before they shut it off so it was leaking for about 9-10 days and meter reading taken right in the middle.

Add $140 for water wasted on top of the $2100.

Have about 35 minutes before they turn it back on.

On a side note they replaced the gas line at some point already, uncovered the old one so shouldn't have to worry about that in the future, hopefully.

My little sister sent out her families Happy New Year card, not a christmas card. People wonder why I call my BIL a sleeper cell.

The city has closed for tomorrow...as the melt will regress tonight...

As of 4:30pm ish, my son cleared the other half of the drive. 20220117_163040.jpeg

This concludes my book report on winter storms in the South.

Yeah, our worst weather doesn't hold a candle to your Lake effect storms...again a factor in why I moved south.

I could be an *******, invoice I was given gave the total I wad told by owner. $2100.

When line was laid, the inside guy still had to connect new line to existing plumbing and mud up the old line and bore hole. Outside guy just had to wait for a full connection for a leak check.

I was outside talking to him and asked him about invoice, contract and payment as I had not seen anything in writing. He started telling me that he was $110 an hour subcontracting and the guy inside had been with used by the conpany for about 7 months and was $95 per hour.

$205 an hour combined, invoice stated they both had 8.5 hours on the job. They showed up 30-45 minutes late by what the owner told me, 8:45am CST. I can check cameras but almost certain they were gone around 4:15pm possibly earlier. If they get paid OT for over 8 hours in a day they got full pay plus 1/2 hour OT.

Doing the math without OT I paid $1742.5 labor and left $357.50 for the company to procide materials and claim profit. Even less if OT will be paid/billed to them

Mrs. and I head upstairs to go to bed only to find that the dog has been laying in said bed for the last 30 mins or so, chewing his back claw off and bleeding all over the damn sheets.

This happened here last year, I believe it was maybe Lake Minnetonka, with 2 young girls. They were whipping ****ties out on the lake and the car went under. Before it was totally under one jumped up on the car to get a few pics. The driver of the car had the balls to start a go fund me to replace the car.

****ties, donuts, all thing that can be whipped in a car. Rear wheel drive but can be done in a front wheel drive but the car has to be in reverse.

I remember being in the middle front seat of a friends car as he decided to do donuts in a parking lot. Younger step sister was on the door side. As we were going around the passenger door popped open and she was half way out when I snatched the back of her shirt yanking her back in. Holy Hell, that was a heart attack moment.

We got another 6" of s no we last night...hubby finished drive with tractor as I shoveled under eves and redid the mail and end of drive. Wow a lot of snow for a serious first snow fall of 2022. Now we have a bit of a one day warm up followed by -1 to -11 night temps with single and teen highs in daylight.
BTW...shoveling is an apparent serious glute work out.... because my glutes are seriously sore!...lol
