My weather rant is the WIND. I hate super windy days. Sustained winds over 2o mph and gusts of 40 + mph ...... suck! I need the sun to come out and melt the snow in place so it will stop drifting. I plowed yesterday and will have to do it again today because of drifting. The wind makes for some damn cold windchills.
Curse the sky January in the upper midwest, it snows then it gets cold and windy. FML going to be 28 below tomorrow morning. Try getting a chihuahua to go outside and pee when it is that damn cold.
Ha! I know what you mean. My female dog Zeva has only a single coat of very short hair and none on her belly. In very cold weather she sometimes goes down the steps of the deck and immediately turns around and tries to come back in. At that point I yell, "Go potty!", and she then goes and does her business. My other dog, Jones, has longer hair but still a single coat and sometimes has to be called back in. That's when I start thinking wtf is wrong with him. I guess no matter the weather patrolling the estate isn't going to do itself.

I have a min pin, I have to shovel paths throughout the yard mainly on the fence edge and then have to shovel a 12 foot circle for him to do his deeds. He'll be 15 end of May and doesn't stay out long anymore, especually when cold. Supposed to be single digits with -16 windchill in the morning.

Spent the evening freaking out. Went to the store earlier and noticed a lot of ice in the gutters to about 3 drives down. Definitely coming from my sump discharge. Mind automatically goes into underground water pipe leak. Go down and watch the sump, nothing coming in from the foundation drains but water is slowly rising from bottom of pit. Forgot we got a 1/2 inch of rain new years day so hoping that is all it is as ut has warmed above freezing the past 2 days during the day. Additional rant, after I bought the place in 2011 the water meter was in basement, meter reader either needed to access it or I had to call it in. I called and requested an RF meter be installed so they could get a reading from outside. Couple months later they dug a pit in the right of way between sidewalk and road, bastards installed a new meter there. Had I not requested an RF meter I'd still have one in the basement. Water department is responsible for lines to the meter. Now that the meter is at the road I am responsible for the line from the house to the road meter if and when it starts leaking. They also left one of the line nuts on the basement meter loose. Didn't leak but when I barely moved the meter tonight water poured out pretty good. Luckily a 1/8 turn tightened it solid.

My Giant Schnauzer refuses to go outside if it's raining more than a slight drizzle. He hates getting his hair wet. But he'd run around outside for hours in a blizzard. Loves the snow. Damn dog makes no sense. Gotta make a post on the Good Dog thread...
Lake pretty much runs north south and has steep banks around it so it is a funnel for wind -30 this morning not real pleasant. I left the truck running while I got gas.
Down to -27 here now. No wind thank God. I hate the way everything creeks and groans ..... including myself. Also, I hate the way my truck sounds when I start it up in this weather.
Great thing about A.J. needing a coat rain or cold....all the ****e and or dead things he just HAS to roll in...requires the washing machine and not a full tub washing of him. Today he found a turkey poultry carcass and a buck bed with ****e in it. His coats been washed 3 x' s already... Tree popping makes me cringe
