Coworkers son had a fundraiser at school and I bought some holiday goodies. My lord, the chocolate is disgusting. For the price it should be some golden chocolate not nasty dollar store flavored stuff.
That is the purpose of a fund raise. Buy low sell high. Who cares is its nasty stuff. I just pay people to go away these days
I don't mind paying the price - if it tasted okay. But not this. I did order dip mixes, too, but those are usually good. Even my coworker said the spatulas were like half the size of a regular spatula. She's like someone is going to be mad.
I am putting the holiday lunch together, so tempted to say if you do not want to join the fellow employees for lunch the envelope with the cash you don't want either.
Ditto. It's actually pathetic that my employees turned down a prime rib dinner. We usually hold it at the local legion - shrimp (and veggies/cheese trays and some other "hand food") as an appetizer then prime rib and something else as the main dish. Only one person responded back. So they're getting subs or something basic at a luncheon. Bring a dish if you want more than that. It's sad when employees wont show up for something nice you try to do.
Never bought cookies from a stand. Always had enough family that actually came to the house to ask. Hell even the "neighborhood" girls would knock on the door. Neighborhood is a big area when you live in the country side.
I refuse to buy from any group that does this at a store. That is by far, the most lazy way to do a fundraiser. And no, my boys don't need your fundraiser; they have access to my lawn mower, weed eater, rake and trash bags. I bet my 10-year-old made more money last summer than your kid will before graduating high school.
Just had a rep call and try to chew me a new one. They are 90 days past due and an order they placed has not been put into production. 1 they tried the excuse our accounting department was out with covid and another with a broken ankle, I replied my accounting person died and we still paid bills. Then they tried well you did not tell us we are past due, really you run a business and you do not know your payables? Some days I wonder why I do this.
They gave those out for free at school when I was a kid. It was a part of a special ceremony held every year on 11/11 to make sure no one forgot what Remembrance/Veteran's Day is about.
I've sort of gotten used to people being late or forgetting to pay for their storage units. Some seem to need a monthly reminder. I often wonder what happened to people's sense of responsibility and integrity. Wtf. Sent from my SM-G981U using Tapatalk
This weather has been crazy this month. NE/IA/MN are going to get hammered today. Going to be widespread power outages with the winds followed by a drastic drop in temps. Going to be a lot of wind damage outside of storms as well. Storms will be moving near 80mph at times, heed them warningnif you are in them.
When I was a kid every Veteran's day a WW2 vet would come to school and give us a presentation for an hour or so, I wonder if they still do that.
I think it will go just south and east of me hopefully. It is supposed to get cold rapidly after the rain, flash freeze warnings the roads are going to be a mess in the morning.
