You must work for government, or, a Gov't contractor.

After 3 hours at Dr office get back to work and find out my work is giving everyone a cost of living raise. Still have not been called into HR yet, payroll goes through tomorrow. Sounds like it is not percentage based but uses length of employment and versatility in the company. Should be good to go on both accounts, but sounds silly to call it a cost of living increase when it is more merit based.

The rant comes from my anniversary date of 11/29 so still awaiting my annual review as well. Others got their annual raise earlier in the year and now getting another one. Think I'm getting shafted on the annual review now and they'll use this as the reason.

Went better than I thought it would have, equated to a 9.31% raise. Inflation at 6.8%

151.9 gallons $372 not too terribly bad, I will probably only fill the tank 1 more time before spring. Electric bill is a little over $200 a month. I was surprised I could see in the electric bill when I turned on the infloor heat. You are burning some kilowatts until you get the cement warmed up.

    That is very nice.

We received a 3% raise this past summer after 2 years without one. Doesnt even keep up with inflation.

Yeah, this isn't a regular thing. They have lost a few experienced workers to better paying jobs and quite a few new guys the past year.

They came to the realization that it is currently a workers market and wage gaps are closing.

I definitely appreciate it, but I fully understand it is not the turning of a new leaf.

So I worked with a consultant went about doing an analysis and report of sales, growth, factors etc. Took the consultants report and used that to compile my report with specific numbers and trends. Put it all together in a nice power point presentation. I shoot that off to the big guy, he shows up at 10:45 I said have you read the report, he asked me to print it out on paper instead. I could have saved a lot of time and angst.

wife and I have been hitting projects pretty hard the last 2 years. Getting the "big" stuff done BEFORE retirement. Last big one is our new deck. Should have been done 2 years ago.

I hear ya! I got less percentage and longer time span.

I did get a retension bonus payout and will for the next 2 years.

I guess that's better than a sharp stick in the eye.

I am lucky in that I am the one implementing the plan, the report was just for following along, documenting the plan. I love to hear that's not the way I did it, well your way was not the most efficient and easy to implement and that is what I get paid to fix. Just like I get more done at work before the employees show up, I make a lot more progress when the big guy is not hear. Some days I get pissed and say why don't you go work in your wood shop.
