Dumb bastards in the cities. Do not leave your car running while you run into a store. There is not a week that goes by where a vehicle is left idling with either a beloved pet or child is in the car is stolen. I refuse to feel sorry for the "victim"
Companies sending me multiple emails a day because it's black Friday /cyber week... ... Yes, you are upping you previous number of 'impressions' ... Also pissing me off and helping me decide with whom I won't be doing business.
Saw that this morning, while out for a walk... Warming the vehicle as it was a brutal 28 degree morning If I was a dishonest man, I would've had a couple vehicles to choose from.
My employees are ungrateful. We do a $50 gift card for full time employees and a $25 to part time employees plus a small personalized gift at Christmas. Seems every year someone has some crappy thing to say about the gift. With that being said, what is something you would like? We get tumblers every year during EMS week - so they have enough of those. A bluetooth speaker, a blanket, a notebook? Again, it's just small - so $15/under. Input from you all? (Reminder, we're a small non-profit EMS agency with less that 50 full time/part time employees.)
I'd just assume put all the money together, divide it equally per employee and up the gift card amount, or $65 and $40. My work has a Christmas party every year, sans Covid last year, they usually do some sort of "fun activity" trivia with a table of 4-6 employees grouped. Winning team gets $350 gift cards. This year they're doing individual thing where you guess who the picture is as a child. Then they have a raffle gift pick, usually have 15 or so high dollar gifts then a lot of low end rubbish. Donations from our tool suppliers etc. Hats, shirts and other smallnitems with their brand on it. High dollar items are usually ipads, 65-75" TV's, pellet smokers, coupoe $500 gift cards etc. Basically if you get drawn top 10 you're getting a $500 plus gift. Get drawn 25th down and you're looking at $5-$15 items. Usually given ticket away by then. I'd rather see them pool all that money up and give out equal amounts in gift cards. Everyone working here is 25 plus, mostly 35 plus so games are kinda silly.
I cannot do more in gift cards since the money that we do the small gift is usually donated. The $50 and $25 gift cards + a Christmas Luncheon is our gift to the employees (We used to do catered prime rib dinner and people complained about that too and only 15 or so would show up and we'd lose out because I had to do a sign up sheet ahead with the number of plates to purchase). I also do 12 days of Christmas drawing with donated items from the community.
I fluctuate from being very caring to people like this most of the time to being a complete ahole in terms I dont give one damn about a persons feelings once they have shown disrespect for someone trying to be a good person. We have a weakening society of weenies, no pun intended but that weakening is mostly men.
My work does a catered luncheon, the things mentioned above and then when we leave they give everyone a 20-24lb ham. I'd be happy with just the ham, but with enough hunters here they usually have a tree stand or trail camera in the raffle. Few years ago I was actually drawn 2nd. 1st picker took the big smoker/grill I wanted so I passed on the 70" TV's and took a dewalt cordless tool set. Hindsight I should have takem a TV and regifted/sold it, as I have too many as it is.
Bingo. It's a lot of my male medics who complain about whatever is given or were the ones not to show up to the dinner.
Inability to express gratitude says a lot about a wannabe man's maturity. You will never please boys like that, do the best you can with you got and let the whiners whine their way to another employer if it is not enough.
Anyone know how I can pull in six figures with benefits for being a professional napper...okay then, back to normal grind.
Yeah, curious to see what they do. They've done it every year for the past 60 years at least. I'm sure the supplier will work a deal with them, or the ham will be a lot smaller. Back in the mid 2000's to until the big recession we had damn near 300 employees. Then the recession hit and we dropped to about 35 or so. Currently about 150-175'ish.
First time in weeks I saw a deer. It was about halfway between my house and the freeway, out in farm country. I was not close enough to count points but there was mass. The big fella was tail up running thru a plowed field, how is that even possible?
It's no win, but some ideas, if they are of any use : -Find a local craft person that can help create a token gift -momento ornsment -coaster set -candles -doormat As hers said, you're damned in any case
