I just went to Publix here in FL as well. They have an entire aisle full of wine. Only a half aisle of beer. Fail. They do have lobster soup. Win. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
I'm drinking Mandarin IPA. Outside of the can says "Asheville Original Craft Beer". Hahaha. My 9 year old did a spin and picked it out in the beer aisle today. It's not half bad. Not much of an alcoholic kick though which is surprising for an ipa. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
I have a friend who sells craft beers and all sorts of weird ales. I’ll be honest they all taste like stale pee or an altered variant of such. He always brings round a selection of the latest offerings when we have a gathering. Last time was a coconut ipa, now an IPA to me is the worst, and mixing in something else is just adding a nut punch to a poke in the eye. He always claims the beer he sells is much better than any of the light standard off the shelf beers we drink. Here’s the best part, he doesn’t even drink beer, he can’t stand the taste and only drinks spirits. Lol
It's the opposite of helicopter parenting and in spirit is a wonderful concept. Hell, most of us played unsupervised 99% of the time growing up. But my buddy's grand kids weren't really taught there's a time and place for not going wherever you want, etc, and they throw temper tantrums at age 12 and 13 as if they were toddlers.
free range parenting is not the same as long-leash parenting; which is how I would suspect most of us were raised. The better behaved you were the longer the leash got.
My kids played outside by themselves unsupervised all the time, then again my driveway was a half mile long and the german shepard went everywhere my daughter did. I would not let my kids do that in the city.
My parents would be in jail if they had parented me in todays world. We ran free every single day during the summer from 9 years on. We used to ride our bikes to the corner store 2 miles down the road every day during summer... Swim in their creek next to it and then go play hide and seek in their large tractor/parts lot all day long (the stacks and stacks of tractor tires were excellent spots to hide). We used to go on "adventures" with our best friend who lived next door and walk miles and miles through the woods of all our neighbors farms with our BB guns. "The good ole days." It will never be the same I'm afraid to say.
