My wife takes care of the bills, I take care of making the money. I do have a mason jar with cash in the freezer that I use to buy things like boats, or tubes to pull behind the boat, stuff like that.

I do the making of money, too....which I think is where the frustration starts. (He got laid off in COVID and decided to start a taxidermy business. Well, that didn't kick off til this year and now there is a shortage of everything....so yeah...)

But, I like the freezer idea. That's a great hiding spot!

It will survive a house fire in the freezer.

We have ours in the gun safe - but that's another great spot. Been in many fires and obviously fridge and freezers are still intact.

Then again with the cost of things people might start breaking in to raid the freezer.

Any of you ever had a faulty tire pressure sensor? Damn tire showing rapidly lowering tire pressure on my back right tire but I've been out and checked it twice and nothing seems wrong with it

Yes, and the price to replace one of those sensors on my Toyota is stupid, so I ignore the light.

One nice thing about my silverado, when I add air to the tire the truck honks when I hit 32 psi.

I manage my family's finances. My wife and I have a budget and we stick to it. Now, my recently passed FIL, didn't and now we are helping my MIL figure out the mess he left her. :deadhorse::rant:

    Both of us do.
We have a joint account and our own accounts too. Every month enough money is put into the joint account to cover bills and living expenses like food, household items, etc. We keep a buffer in it, if it builds up higher than needed the excess gets put into a joint savings. Many bills are set up for auto pay, cell phones, auto insurance, Netflix, Hulu, stuff like that. She pays the utility bill, water/sewer/garbage, and any medical bills that we may have that month, and I make loan payments and the house payment. This all comes out of the joint account.

Left over income, an amount is put into joint savings every month (used for emergencies, like an appliance needing replaced in the house, or for family trips/vacations) and then the rest is split in half and put into our personal accounts. I really like having individual personal accounts, we each only have to worry about our own account. We don't have to worry about making a big purchase and possibly over drawing if the other happened to make one at the same time like with a joint account. These accounts are used for fuel for our own vehicles, impulse buys like something at a convenience store or going out for lunch, and for purchases for our own personal hobbies. I want to get a new bow, I save up and get one. She does the same.

About this time last year just got done redoin a jeep so figured might as well do it again this year.

Won't be near as involved this time but just picked up 08 JKU. Don't have very big plans for it except few things for looks. Alot nicer to drive around than the 95 that's for sure. First time have had a automatic in about 10 years and kinda boring to drive ha.

Oh idk if this really qualifies for a rant other than also first time in about 10 or 12 years have a car payment.

A knife in the ass is when your brother decides since you have killed your buck that he will have free rein to hunt your lease stands which he has put no money or work into.... Called me last night after hunting the lease thicket I killed my buck from wanting to know which lease stand to hunt on today's wind... I didn't even know he was going to hunt the lease yesterday without me!

I kindly reminded him that he was welcome to hunt with me when I ask, but not take it for granted that he has the right to hunt it without me!

We have a 220 acre family farm to hunt... He needs to hunt it. I haven't hunted the farm the last couple of years just so he could have the whole thing to run on. Granted its harder to hunt than my lease. The lease is easy to hunt ----BECAUSE I set it up that way!

Now he wants to take advantage of it...

I love him to death, but gawd he can be so inconsiderate at times....

Some things about small town life. My wife did accept the job in town. My neighbors know everybody worth knowing in town. Neighbor has called or texted my wife the last 3 days asking if she got the job. My wife is well aware of the politics of school and will not tell the neighbor until the school announces her hire, Superintendent and Principal would not appreciate the info getting out before they announce it. The other thing because she works at school now I lost any annoymity in town that I had, before I was just that Packer guy.
