    Desert Eagle?

I have a few semi-autos in .22 and .45 as well as the .44. I have a metal target set up where the targets spin when hit. The difference in power between the .44 and the .45 is astonishing.

BTW, I have no qualms about shooting coyotes. All you have to do is listen when they catch a fawn. It makes me want to shoot them all. 4 from my front door so far.

Desert Eagle? Good God, I don’t want that kind of recoil and I also didn’t want to spend that kind of money at the time.

I actually bought this pistol to hunt with and carry with me in hog/bear country.

It’s a Sig Sauer P220 Hunter. I’ve only killed one doe with it so far but I will kill a buck with it some day.

Both of them. Didn't see the one in the yard until I got home and watched it fullscreen on the computer.

Similar but it was all about the seasoning used to get a pizza flavor with mozzerella in the center.

I'm thinking a 2:1 burger to italian sausage blend for the patty and incorporating a good italian seasoning blend of maybe even a good pizza sauce and mixing into it.

There was something to it, and I'm going on a 35+ year memory. I'm thinking pepperoni is sonegiw the key. Had a slight grease tonit as well.

Maybe a 3:1:1 burger/sausage/pepperoni blend with some italian seasoning.

Seasoning likely oregano, basil. Maybe some of the following a bit of garlic powder, parmesano, thyme. If you recall pepperoni flavor, maybe some crushed red pepper or Calabrian chili.

    Sounds pretty good tho.

You did get lucky. Six years ago I was putting up a stand a few weeks before season opened. I got all the way to the top, set everything up, trimmed out shooting lanes. Probably spent an hour working. I get to the bottom of the tree and step right in a yellow jacket nest right at the bottom of the tree. I have no idea how I didn't see it or step in it right away. I ran as soon as I felt the first sting. I ended up getting stung 11 times and had to go to urgent care for a steroid shot because the stings on my hand had swollen it to twice its normal size. That was on a Sunday afternoon. The steroid shot was so strong that I didn't go to sleep until Tuesday night. I am just glad I never had breathing problems. I watch where I step a lot more carefully now.

There are a lot of people that have gone to a 10mm for packing in Grizz country. It used to be a revolver in.44 mag, .480 Ruger, or .454 Casull was the most recommended, but the stopping power of the 10mm along with being less bulky, semi-auto, and more capacity has changed a lot of opinions.
This topic still generates a bunch of internet arguments to this day of course.
I have a Ruger Redhawk in .44 mag with a 7.5" barrel...or did before the boating accident anyway... , it is not pleasant to carry all day in a position that it is quickly accessed. A 10mm in a Blackhawk Serpa holster would be much more desirable to me to carry.
You know what happens if it isn't convenient to carry...you end up not having it when it is suddenly needed.
I think you made a good choice.

You are correct, I was about 20ft past the nest in the ground when I got stung.

Glad everyone's OK. I raised wire haired terriers and they can lock their jaws just like a bull /Staffordshire terrier. So even small ones can do big damage. I had good portion of my left pinky bitten off breaking up a dog fight and a puncture through my right calf and my right forearm on two other occasions, not fun.
Sure way to unlock a jaw is to jam your thumb and pointer up under behind lower jaw bone this will isolate the wind pipe and wrap the rest of your fingers around and squeeze. Don't let go until they release but also the eyes roll back. Then you know they won't be able to jump right into another attack. Grabbing a hind leg and immediately doing your best hammer throw. They don't have time to react if your in your " turn" the moment you grab the leg.
