Nothing sucks worse than thinking you are going to get in on a lease on a prime 25acre piece of urban property loaded with deer 2 minutes from your house then get a message that the home owners association decided not to lease it this year !!what the hell!! Super disappointed!! I still have a great spot to hunt but this would have been perfect.

No im not that smart. We were looking in MO but the market is twice as insane over there and both my wife and i have family close by who help us a ton with the kids. We lose all that if we move over there. Steep premium for blood to watch over the kids instead of strangers

    worth a self-quote-

I would venture the truth that anyone who would give access to hundreds of millions of dollars to an avowed Communist is himself a Communist

I would take rain vs the smokey haze we have, last night it rolled in like a thin fog, and no it does not make we want to boot up and do something about it. Matter of fact I am sick of people asking me about the fires.

I hear you on the smoke haze. PNW is burning up right now.
Can't remember the last September I got to elk hunt with the AQI below 80. Probably the year my profile pic was taken, and there was still a haze, just not real bad.
I think I have a pic from last year somewhere, similar to what we're living in right now with all the fires this year.
    Here it is.

So the state decided to do some ditch work but they only ever do one side of the road and it’s never my side. They clean out the other side so it all channels under the road and runs into my yard and pond. If they would clean out my side where they put the pipe in the water would go where it is supposed to go. They like putting the $hit in but never do the up keep. Lazy F#$ks.

Does he enjoy getting bounced around in a little plane circling above fires?

He works on a helo, I mean he loves it. Better than conventional army which is what he came from. His words not mine.

This summer could end today. While checking over growth at stands I get hit with a foul stench. I check a old established woodchuck den and find a huge fawn carcass. No visible spots and about the size of A.J. maybe a bit bigger. Whole front quarter gone. Ripped open midsection and half hind quarter still there.
My woodchuck den is now a coyote den. We've never had denning coyotes on our property, until now. Here in NY they are off limits in the summer, when they do the most harm to deer and Turkey trying to feed litters
I may have to get out the rifle and do some " woodchuck hunting". This den is surrounded by stands and a tower.

Most yotes around me tear up the back quarters first, partly due to pack attacks. Entrails first could be any large carnivore, but if the main organs (heart /lungs/liver) are gone its usually a bear or large cat...

The rear quarter still there is intriguing. Game came over the carrion?

It was dragged half way down the den head first...just skin left there...Now I do not know how pups eat and unless it was all ready ill or injured I can't see a Fox getting something that big down. Especially with a doe around. Part of the front legs where just peeking out of den. This has 3 distinct den openings so I'm not thinking bear. I thought bear use just one opening. All 3 openings had recent digging.
I suppose I could go take pics though I'm still trying to get the stench out of my nose.

So grafic and since I was there earlier they completely moved it. I was wrong the head is still there. They dragged it out and flipped it. Grafic ..pics of openings. What didn't change is the stench! Sorry 3 opening ,I just couldn't get past the smell, it's behind the fawn

You have been reading my posts over the last few years right? I do nothing with fire, It would end in me blowing my self up or burning down our woods , may be both....
